Re: New .204 options
my 204's https://i.postimg.cc/RCkHrKCs/my-204-s.jpg They are more accurate than you would believe Nice, how about showing some of those targets shot with them? We want to "believe". The primary thing I don't care for with that platform is how slow and unwieldly to reload on the ben...

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
Rain and wind now here again, so it'll be a while till I can get out for rock chucks again. So as it rains and blows outside, it's back to basics.....getting that fired brass cleaned, primed and reloaded for the next time: https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1024x768q70/923/TZmMDn.jpg Just returned t...

Re: found CFE223
bigdaddy , way to go buddy! Some of us spend beaucoup bucks on components trying to find that pet load, and it appears you've stumbled onto yours without any fuss whatsoever. It might be time to buy a lottery ticket the way your luck seems to be running....I know I would. ;) As Bill K alluded to, s...

Re: New .204 options
Bearguy , reading what you'll use the new rifle for, and the fact that you'll be using factory ammunition in it limits the true potential of the caliber. I'd suggest choosing a rifle that has the standard 12 twist, as there is a much larger crop to choose from. There's not many coyotes out there th...

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
Your one shooting buddy must have a nice stash of z-maxes, discontinued years ago now. I myself grabbed the last 1000 that my local scheels had in .22 55 grain flavor when they were discontinued. SecretCode , Allen lives in CA, so he saves all his lead core bullets for trips up here to the free sta...

The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
With forum participation waning with new posts seldom appearing lately, I thought I'd post up our recent Rat Rodeo that's pic heavy for some fresh entertainment. This was a ten day affair here in Orygun with my usual crew. "hemiallen" from CA joined us again this year for fun with rodents ...

Re: Guests for Breakfast
Bill, it's sure nice to have these visitors daily. We get them too here, along with racoons, skunks and the occasional cougar. A few years ago, our nextdoor neighbor had her bunnies killed, and when she let the dog out to deal with the bunny noise, the cat took off and jumped the fence right into ou...

Re: bench rests
Rick thanks for the tip I dont plan on going to BR shooting (at this point). Dad also was a avid wood chuck hunter and as a kid and he would take my sister and I out with him and we always were excited when Dad nailed one. Shaky, completely understand. We've probably overwhelmed you with ideas of g...

Re: General information re: 204R of mine.
Great seeing how this sport brings folks together to make some great memories. We need to keep sharing the fun of this sport so more youngsters get involved with it instead of letting it die. Copy that, Shaky! Our group shoots include friends, dads and sons, even a couple of grandpa's. It's always ...

Re: bench rests
Shaky, if you feel your rifle is not either recoiling freely in the bags, or if you prefer less friction, consider what I've seen at BR matches and have read on accuracy dedicated forums..... Experienced BR match shooters frequently use talcum powder on their bags to give better 'free recoil' charac...

In regard to using CLR for the removal of carbon, there are many opinions on using this on rifles, especially on stainless steel. Here's a link to a number of posts over on Accurate Shooter in regard to CLR many may find informative and interesting: https://forum.accurateshooter.com/search/977608/?q...

Re: Help with my Contender
The method I've used for years is below. Zero range is always 100 yards. Use your ballistics program for your chosen load and make up a 'come-up' chart for the scope's ocular lens cap. I use Sierra Infinity program. Get your actual velocity via your chronograph at 100 yards. Then input all environme...
