Re: First yote off of the deck this season.
Yeah I need to get my photos to photobucket or somewhere to be able to post them. How do you create your meatsickle? I was going to mix water with scrap meat etc and freeze it in a 5 gal bucket. I thot id spray hot water around the bucket then to be able to drop out the meatsickle. Do you have any o...

Re: First yote off of the deck this season.
Nice!!!! Looks like im not the only one who whacks em from the house! I shot one the other morning from my porch. I wasn't able to get a shot off at her partner.....looks like I'll have to get my calls out for that one. I've shot 8 so far this calendar year from my house. Been thinking about putting...

Re: loading new Lapua brass
Rick Most of my loads are used for coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and deer sized game, however I really do enjoy hitting little targets a long way out there. Most of these loads will be used for coyotes and fireforming for coyotes will be fine. I would like a little more accuracy for bobcats tho as they a...

Re: loading new Lapua brass
Sure I'll give that a try. When I said it didn't seem to be sizing the case I meant it wasn't sizing the case body. I may not have used the proper wording in my previous post. I am using a Redding Case body sizer. This die does not size the neck. It will only size the case body and will bump the sho...

Re: loading new Lapua brass
I always neck size new brass. I did try FL sizing but found that it really wasnt sizing the case at all, so I just neck size to perfect the case mouth and to make sure I have the neck tension that I want. Looks like I will be doing a lot of plinking and just plain shooting to get all my brass fire f...

Re: loading new Lapua brass
It seems like with my hornady and especially the winchester brass dont shoot very good groups until the brass is once fired. (inch and a half groups then down to a half inch groups with once fired brass). The case itself seems to be uneven/out-of-round. I can load cases, roll them across the table a...

loading new Lapua brass
I'm loading new lapua brass that is supposed to have the flash holes deburred/cleaned up. Need an opinion from you professionals. Is there any benefit to using my flash hole tool to "chamfer" the flash hole? Hard to explain without a pic but my flash hole tool will put a slight chamfer on ...

Re: primer pocket problems
Well it's confirmed. My WW brass primer pockets are too tight. I tried another lot of WW brass and the primers seated just fine. I am trying to contact Winchester and I cannot find their customer service number anywhere on their website. Annoying!!! Does anyone have their contact info????

Re: primer pocket problems
I'm using hornady's handpriming tool. I've never had any issues with it and it seems to do well. I'll measure the primers and I'll try my CCI match primers, but I think I'll let WW know of the issue. I dont believe it could be anything else other than the primer pockets are too small. When I seat th...

primer pocket problems
I'm using Winchester Brass and WLR primers in .243 win. I'm using new unfired brass that were prepped. (flash holes deburred, chamferred, and neck sized) The primer pockets are extremely tight, so much so that the primer is flattened when seated. It looks like a round that was loaded too hot and fir...

Re: Lil Excited.......
Awesome! I'm looking to buy a .243 AI as the 6MM is a huge favorite of mine. I like the 75 gr Vmax in this caliber. H414 has worked well for me in .243 Win. Do you have experience with this cal? If so what are your thoughts on bullet powder combos?

Re: to use or not use a boresnake
Thanks guys for the replys. If I clean with the boresnake I run a patch or two of Butch's Bore Shine through the bore first then use the boresnake. I do wash my boresnake every couple of cleanings to minimize pulling old dirt through.

to use or not use a boresnake
I know there are a lot of opinions on cleaning a barrel. I have a boresnake for my .204. I also occasionally just use patches. I use Butch's Bore Shine and I love it. I then finish up with a super light film of oil. I shoot a fouler before I hunt or shoot targets. Now back to my real question, why o...
