Naming Contest

It feels like we have general consensus, shifting the forum name to be more inclusive of other calibers is the way we want to go. I know there have already been some names floating around other threads, but if you can repeat them here so we have them all in one place, that'd be great. Please reply w...

Future of the forum

I feel like this forum is at a crossroads. Viewer discretion advised, brutal honesty to follow... My dad started this forum in 2005 because of his passion for shooting, and his love of the new 204 caliber. I remember his excitement when the first member signed up. It quickly blossomed into one if th...

Re: New Forum Title?

I didn't like this idea when I first read it a few months ago. I think the specificity of the site is part of what has made this forum great, instead of just another general forum lost in the noise. However, as time rolls on it's true the newness of the 204 has worn off. If the good people here thin...

Re: Equifax Breach

I was kinda sketched out at first too. But I did my due diligence before forwarding the information. The url is given on CNN, Huffington Post, and Equifax's own site, to name a few. Rick Smith, CEO and Chairman of Equifax, has a video talking about it. Still, I agree. Wondering if your information i...

Equifax Breach

This has nothing to do with guns, other than the fact you won't be able to buy any more if your identity gets jacked... Equifax had a breach that is apparently affecting up to 44 percent of Americans. I just checked, and my wife and I's information has been compromised along with a few of my other f...

New way to post photos

You may be aware of the current fiasco photobucket is creating for everyone. If you haven't heard, I'm sure you've seen all the broken links on the forum. Due to this, the complexity of posting photos, and the limited options for hosting, we have decided to enable uploading files to 204Ruger.com. Pl...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

I would bet that if we had a poll of the shooters, the majority would also agree that Skipper should shoot. It is a honor shoot among those that enter and I really see no conflict of interest, rearing it's head, among us. Bill K :) I totally agree. If there were piles of money at stake, it would be...

Re: To All Users

You are right Bill. Last night the site got a SSL certificate, meaning the site now connects through https:// instead of http://. This is a big step for making the site secure. I have made the http forward to https, but your browser cache probably hasn't updated yet. Accessing the site through Googl...

I apologize for the intermittent connection any of you may have been experiencing the last few days because of updates being applied to the site. To my knowledge, all of the spam has been deleted from the forum. If you find any now, or in the future, please email me, PM me, or contact me using the l...

Re: To All Users

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread until now. I have been working non-stop this past week to try to get the false users out of the system. Problem is, they just keep coming. I am doing everything I can. I plan on having everything back to normal this week. I ask for your patience. I only place a few...

Re: face lift on site

Thank you for your patience and kind feedback over the past week. There has been a lot going on under the hood, and a few things I wanted to update you on. The database has been optimized, and compression and caching have been enabled, so browsing and searching should be much zippier now. If it ever...

Re: face lift on site

I don't like it!. I agree with the other comments about being hard to read, because of being older and having problems reading what is posted. I did change my setting back to prosilver, without much help! I have noticed that there are a lot of older people using the site, including myself. I am not...
