Re: Question for Rick

Well Voodoo Doughnuts was a trip...... I never thought a doughnut shop would have a 30 minute line at 6:30 in the afternoon. But worth the wait. The maple doughnut with bacon was delightful.

I think tomorrow night we are going to try out the Rock Bottom or Ringside.

Question for Rick

I am visiting Portland, OR next week for business and thought it would be sweet to visit the Leupold manufacturing facility. Rick, is possible for an average Joe to get a tour? I am assuming that if it was possible, you were the first one in the door...... :D I own 6 Leupold scopes and in the market...

Re: Little Help With RCBS Competition Seating Die

I got to thinking about your problem again, the 35s are a flat base bullet correct? Are you chamfering your brass? If you are loading up new brass and haven't trimmed or chamfered the inside, you will probably smash a few........ And you will have quite a bit of inconsistency in accuracy.

Re: Little Help With RCBS Competition Seating Die

I use the same die set up for my .204 and I have never had a problem. However I only shoot 40 grain bullets and the long body may help with the alignment.

If it was me, I would probably use my drimmel tool and polish the throat of the die. There may be a burr or something fouling you up.....

Re: New case cleaner - stainless steel pins

That isn't a bad price for what you are getting. I don't know anything about that particular brand but I do have three Thumbler's Tumblers. An 18 lb Vibratory, 6 lb and 12 lb rock tumblers. They work excellent!!!! I even prefer the tumbled results better than my ultrasonic machine that was 6K. You w...

Re: Trimming brass in the 204???

I have a drawer full of trimmers from Lee, a Lyman, RCBS, and have used about them all......They all collect dust now after I bought the "Worlds Finest Trimmer". It indexes off the shoulder like the Giraud and has been faster and far more consistent than the Lee cutters. The only consisten...

Re: New rifle

I own a Ruger Varmint/Target chambered in 204.....darn good rifle, I prefer the trigger on this rifle vs the Savage. I would take either over a CZ. Just my opinion..... If I had the patients and room in my safe I would probably order a Cooper. http://i926.photobucket.com/albums/ad108/c_wiedmaier/IMG...

Re: 204 range day

I doubt you will ever get it to group at a distance of 100 yards. I'm not sure why you would choose a barrel length of 17" for a .204 if you are wanting to shoot at that range or further. When your bullet reaches the muzzle, you are still burning powder. Most barrel lengths are standardized for...

Re: 1st shoot, NOT so flat trajectory ?!

Zero at 200 should only be .7" high @100 yards(with a 40 grain). This is off the Hornady ballistics chart......

http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/bal ... istics.pdf

I zero my .204's around the 270 yard mark. The 100 yard mark is a hair over an inch high.
