Re: Favorite Loads

Oh just a little. I've got to check my fps. On my 21.5 grainers and probably try going up just about .5 gr. Also for accuracy. But thanks for the heads up on piercing 400 primer I will keep close watch.

Re: 204 Ruger Loads in the AR

We use prolong and keen bore. It gets mixed one part to foor parts. It also is better if the bolt gets warmed up for the racing oil to sink in. I also used some zmax for the linkite. Just don't use it on barrels. Unless you aren't ever going to machine the barrel. Because when they went to cut crank...

Re: MAN! Is this caliber fun!

Too true! Had to go south here in Utah almost to Lake Powell today. And my other half wouldn't let me pull over to stalk a red fox. She said it was too pretty and we didn't have time. I told her to come back for me after our daughters party. She isn't talking to me right now. Best break I've had for...

Re: Favorite Loads

Wow. What are you using ? I was going to up by .10 of a grain and see how it pressured. There wasn't any indication of a problem at 21.5gr. I think I will chrony first for sure before I do go higher.

Re: Favorite Loads

Just started working loads for 34 gr. Mid south. So far I am at 21.5 gr. Of imr 4198. Out of my ar. It is 24" 1in 12 twist. The cci 400 primer have grouped .5" less than the magnum primer. I need to get it chronied still. Maybe this weekend? The best group has been .670 so.far but it shall...

MAN! Is this caliber fun!

I Went to the range yesterday to work up my 34 gr. loads with my father and brother in law, and after I finished "working". We shot some plates with pistols. When two crows made the poor choice of stopping to watch. I took one with franken204, and my Bro took the other with his REM.700 204...

Re: Is This Powder Charging Safe?

Usually the minimum load is safe. I use 27.5 gr. Of imr 4198. And a cci 400 primer. It shoots sub one inch groups at 100 yards.

Re: Tell us about yourself...

I am from east central Utah. Been hunting since I could hold up both ends of a rifle. Been reloading for about 10 years. Just really getting serious about my frankenstein .204 which took me 2 years to build. I found the site looking for load data for 34gr. Warming nightmare. Got some. Worked up some...
