Nosler varmint 32gr bt loads with imr 8208 xbr

Hi all, I'm having a lot of trouble sourcing any load data for 32gr nosler varmint ballistic tips using benchmark 8208, which is our Aussie ADI equiv. of IMR 8208 xbr. The nosler page I can find doesn't list this powder. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I can only find horn...

Re: Varmageddon 32 gr charge question

Thanks for the advice, I will tread carefully and start below the max and work up toward it and see how I go. Have any of you used the varmageddon projectiles? Do you rate them?

Re: Varmageddon 32 gr charge question

I am using the same poser batch, just swapping projectiles. I will still be using a 32 gr. just wondering why the powder charge has to drop so much to change to the varmageddon 32 gr in place of a sbk 32 gr

Varmageddon 32 gr charge question

Hi all, just wondering..... I am currently using 32 gr sbk's in rem brass and rem 7 1/2 br primers with h322 powder . The load data states 25.5-27.5 grs for this load. My pet load is a bit over max but was worked up carefully in .1 gr increments and ive used hundreds of them with no problems.However...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaners for brass

I picked one up from that-online-auction-site a couple of years ago that looks just like the Hornady one. Not sure what the differences might be. Osccilations per second? I now use a 60/40 mix of water/white vinegar with a thorough rinsing in plain water afterward. I've also tried the Hornady mix a...

Ultrasonic cleaners for brass

Hi all, I am looking for opinions on the use of ultrasonic cleaners for fired brass, a mate of mine uses one to clean his brass and it seems to work well. From there he loads them without any further cleaning or the use of a tumbler with media. We both only load for hunting so bench rest accuracy is...

Re: Exceeding max load??

Hi ryutzy , it is interesting that you can gain that much velocity by seating on the lands. I am currently using an oal of 2.26 in my 204 but have only got a little more room to play with before it will take the mag out of play which I'm not willing to do as this is a hunting rifle and I am not chas...

Exceeding max load??

G' day guys, have noticed in the past that most people on this forum are very much against exceeding load reccomondations, chasing accuracy and not chasing velocity, but my question to you is... If you slowly work up above max load for a given powder, all the while checking for pressure signs until ...

Re: Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

G'day xa coupe! Good to see your giving the 204 a crack. That howa looks like a beauty, keen to hear your comments on the 223 comparison once you've given it a go, I'm sure you'll be impressed by what this mighty little calibre is capable of. ;)

Re: 270 wsm for hogs?

I do reload so the cost isn't a big concern, especially as I won't shoot the wsm all that often anyway, ( too in love with my 204). I have shot hogs with my 204, dropped them on the spot too, but the 204 has it's place and unfortunately it isn't a pig gun :)

270 wsm for hogs?

G'day guys, just seeking the general consensus on the 270wsm as a cartridge for pigs and deer etc, I currently have a sako .243 but am thinking of swapping it for the wsm, just seems to be faster, flatter and more knock down power for not much more recoil. What are your thoughts?

Re: Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

A bowhunter hey? I've been bowhunting since I was a kid! But the shots at pigs with the 204 have all been to the chest, right behind the front shoulder. None were huge pigs, biggest around 60 kg, probably wouldn't have a go at big mud encrusted boar... The 25.06 would be safer then.
