Re: talk me into/out of 20vt

I'm pretty much a bench shooter too. I will take it out past 300 but man that 204 is a hoot too. I guess it's the lack of altitude you get on some of the longer shots  If you do walk about check out Ricks walking stick. It's pretty cool http://www.204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=994...

Re: talk me into/out of 20vt

Bought my VT for a few reasons: It's a wildcat. I love wildcats. It's extremely accurate. You can follow every shot I have tried and I can't get the gun hot. It is my go to gun under 300 yards. Purchased my 20 VT Phoenix model 21 from a great store in Rapid City. Mark is great to deal with and had o...

Re: WINTER TEST LOADS/SPRING DOG SHOOT

This is one of the reasons I decided to work up 8208 From their website IMR 8208 XBR The latest in the versatile IMR line of fine propellants, this accurate metering, super short grained extruded rifle powder was designed expressly for match, varmint, and AR sniper cartridges. Ideally suited for car...

Re: 32GR OR 39GR ?

I load the 39's for my 204 And use the 32's for my VT. Shoot the VT until the wind comes up or I need to reach out a bit farther

PD Hunt 2013 Round 2

Well we got to go back and shoot where it was too wet to get to last time. We had a great time. I shot the Cooper 20VT until the wind came up and then went to my Cooper 204 , 8208 pushing 39BK's. We shot two days and had pretty steady shooting. My buddy shot his Cooper 204 all day..All topped with L...

PD 2013 round one

Just got back Monday. I wasn't the photo guy I only took a few. Had a great time. Got to shoot my Cooper 20 VT. I will say that It is my new favorite over the 204 Cooper. Pictured dead dog was by the VT about 180 yrds. Most shots 125 to 300 yards. First day was 40 to 50 MPH winds and upper 40's. Las...

They told me if it won't shootb1/2" groups and you haven't abused it they will rebarrel for about a hundred bucks. this is if you are the original owner.
If you want it rebarreled it's about 450.00

Re: Old powder

Yep, that was me alrighty. I'm still killing mulies and coyotes with my Win M70 .270 Win using my last of the last H4831 that's marked "This is WWII Surplus Powder - Storage life is not guaranteed". Velocity readings taken each year indicate it does not deviate more than 20-30 fps from ba...
