Re: Upcoming Small Caliber Competition News
What I'm asking is what separates a factory from a custom rifle. We have had numerous members say they didn't want to compete against a full custom rifle with a factory offering. Where's the line between factory and custom??

Re: Upcoming Small Caliber Competition News
I could use some help on the classes of rifles for this competition. I was going to offer two classes, factory and custom. My question is what defines a factory rifle and the same for a custom rifle?? What makes them different? Your input is appreciated.

Storms in Cypress, Texas
It's been a challenging couple of days now in Cypress, Texas. We were hit by some severe storms and tornadoes. I was sparred the full force of mother nature with only a few shingles torn off, knocked over Harley, and loss of power for about 12 hours. Power is off over a widespread area due to many t...

Re: Upcoming Small Caliber Competition News
I came to the understanding that Small Caliber was .224 or smaller as discussed in the thread "What Is a Small Caliber?". I think that was the consensus, correct??

The competition will end the stroke of midnight (CDT) on Sunday, June 30th. Since posts have time stamps, those submitted after the cutoff will not be counted. Get re...

Re: Found some RL10x
My Remington XR 100 really likes 10X. With the 35 gr. Berger Flat Base over 25.1 grains of 10X it will stack them up. Got to where I could shoot five on a target and cover the group with a dime. That's how I came up with the 5-N-Dime competition title.

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024
This year is going to be different. Targets will be posted online for downloading. You'll be responsible for uploading your target after you shoot it. Everyone, well members anyway, will be judging the results. The only thing you have to do is meet the deadlines. Simple!

Re: found CFE223
I loaded 10 to get an average speed for my Kestrel, it was slower than expected at 3722 but shoot all ten into one jagged hole with Magneto speed bayonet on barrel. Finding a "Sweet Spot Node" at a lower than desired speed is very common for the 204 Ruger. If you're putting ten shots into...

My 204's both like Alliant RL 10X. That's a staple at my house, not a second choice.

I didn't mention this, but CLR will remove the carbon ring. Don't ever publicly announce that you used it. It will void some manufacturers warranties. Never known it to do any damage to my rifles. Gotta let it soak!!

Re: bench rests
I like my rifle to bee free to slide in the bag. Seems to make it track better that way. You might try using some felt cloth to see how your rifle reacts. If it's like mine you may want to glue it to the rear bag like this.

I'm sure you already know this, but write down how many clicks you have to dial in when changing distances so you create a come-up chart.

Re: New way to post photos
You can easily resize your pics using a number of apps like Preview. Just open the pic and click on Tools, Adjust size... Then save it to your hard drive as a JPEG file. Then you can upload it directly into your post as detailed at the top of this thread. It's free versus paying a hosting site. Plus...
