Re: 20VT Fan Club

So nobody is confused, the 3750+ fps velocity is easily enough achieved, but the rifle's sweet spot used to really like the middle node of around 3700-3720 fps. The issue is the newer lots of RL7 have been coming out with much lower burn rates than the last lots, so loads must be adjusted accordingl...

Re: 20VT - "204 Lite" Redux

Wow Brother.....great shooting!!!!! Ha, and I told you the newer lots of RL7 are slower. In fact, I was shooting a 30PPC in score shoots with RL7, and with the new lots of powder, I could no longer get enough of it in the case to get back up to the accuracy node velocity I had previously used. The 3...

Re: Remington pps

I have used a couple PSS rifles, both chambered in .223 as donor rifles for other builds. I'm not a fan of tupperware stocks, and the palm swell on them always seemed to big for my liking. That said, I'm not much help with your question, as I threw the barrels away, and sold the stocks almost immedi...

Re: Previous loaded ammo for a new barrel in same Caliber

Sounds like you got it to work, but my rule is.......new barrel/chamber equals new brass. Although you are able to chamber the rounds now, be very careful about galling the lugs, and keep them greased well, especially until you get the old brass fire formed to the new chamber, and the cases will cha...

Re: shot out factory barrel. need some advise

With all due respect for previous posters, setting a barrel back on a hot varmint round is a temporary fix and not a solution. It works OK on a larger caliber hunting rifle, but seldom works well on a high velocity varmint rig. With a high pressure round like the 204, the barrel has erosion in plac...

Cooper 20 Vartarg (SOLD)

I have a Cooper M38 Varminter chambered in 20 Vartarg for sale. The round count is just over 600 rounds. The rifle and scope are in excellent condition, and shoots in the .3’s. Reason for selling is due to a terminal illness. Included in the price is a Leupold 6-18X40 AOT scope with sun shiel...

Re: Does anyone reload with VIT 120

First.....welcome to the forum. I have not used Viht N-120 in a .204, but it was my go to powder for a 20 Vartarg. However, it is my understanding it is no longer being imported to the U.S., and I'll be using RL7 in that rifle when my N-120 is gone. I see you are across the pond, so availiabity may ...

Re: RIO....FRONT AND CENTER

Rick, The more I think about this set-up, the more fascinating I find it. I am a mechinical designer by trade, and this raises all kind of questions in my mind. I was going to ask how the pump was powered, but I see you just answered that. But how is the stainless sleeve attached....were threads cut...

Re: RIO....FRONT AND CENTER

Thanks Rick! Wow....print film in 2000, imagine that!! lol Some friends were interested in the water cooled rigs after I told them about what you folks were doing. I wanted them to see the pictures, and I'll direct them to this link. I really appreciate you taking the time to re-post them. I have al...

RIO....FRONT AND CENTER

Brother Rick, If memory serves me correctly, a few years back you posted some water cooled rigs you fellows were using for colony shooting. The only one I can find now is the 6.5-284. Can you point me toward the thread that had the more detailed photos? I was thinking you all were set-up on the wago...

Re: BERGER BULLET??

As usual, RIO has it right. I recently read a statement from Eric at Berger bullets, saying that they have indeed corrected the BC values to more accurately match real world results. I believe you will also see that statement on their web page.

Load them up, shoot 'em, and don't look back.
