Red Alert: Backdoor AMMO Ban

Red Alert: Backdoor AMMO Ban, ATF Reclassifies Wetted Nitrocellulose This is the third time I've seen this...... The entire gun industry is at a standstill. Overnight Obama has outlawed a key substance that goes in gunpowder. The chemical compound called nitrocellulose can no longer be stored or us...

Re: T/C Venture

Try 39 gr. sierra, shoots a whole lot better than the hornady 40 gr. in my T/C Venture, of course this is my reloads using 25.2 grain of RX10.

Re: Flat based bullet

I have found that a good set of dies like Hornady makes a big difference. The seating die has like a cylinder in it to help line up and straighten the bullet while seating it. I have found that before doing a full seat, I'll do a light tap first which fully straightens the bullet, then will fully se...

Re: T/C Venture

Must have mind dialed in pretty good. With no wind, I popped an ole crow at 296 yds. last Sat. The 39 gr. sierra bk passed right through it's neck with very little damage. Guess it didn't hit any bone or enough mass. Would have thought it would have took it's head off, but it didn't.

Re: 34 grain Dogtowns and RL10x

I'm shooting 25 gr. 10X, 39 gr sierra bk., .25 to .5 group. T/C Venture. Got a few dogtowns but haven't been able to find a good load yet, using benchmark, varget and 10X. Best group I have got is 1 to 2 inches at 100 yds.

Re: Crow sniping

Yep crows are amazing in the fact they learn the range of a rifle pretty quick and will stay just out of range. They also learn to watch doors to see when they open. I can't hardly get out of the house now to get a crow. I do have some luck with the younger one in late Spring and early Summer for th...

Re: Groundhog crawl aways with .204..

I've heard of people shooting groundhogs with a 30.06, cutting them nearly in two and they still drag themselves back to the hole. They are tough little boogers. I've dropped them in their tracks at a 100 yds with a 17 hmr, go figure.....

Re: Crow sniping

I'll have to say my best shot was with a Rem. 22.250 at 250 yards. I waited two crows out until they lined up, and fired away. Saw the wings fly apart and figured I just got the one. Next day, the guy that was tending the land was walking around checking his corn coming up and he came back up to me ...

Re: Tell us about yourself...

Carolinablue coming at ya from NC. I'm 60 yrs old, retired on disability due to MS since 1999. Did have a Rem. 22.250 with the heavy barrel. Just getting too heavy to tote around so I went down in size to a Thompson Venture .204. At present loading and shooting 34 gr. Midway Dogtown HP bullets using...
