Re: Faster barrel-any experience?

Good info! My dilemma is that while the 40 bergers shoot great at 300-500 yards, i'd love to try a heavyweight 55... My concern being that if i commit to a fast 1:9 twist i might overspin a 40 gr. Can the 1:9 serve a 40 and a 50 gr?? Ahhhh!! I do feel like i am taking a piece of the rifle's appeal a...

Faster barrel-any experience?

I am having a custom reamer built by pacific tool for my .204 so that i can cut and ream my 1:12 varmint barrel and load to the lands. I assembled a dummy round @ 2.3" for reamer construction so it will be a few thousandths over that. When i have run the 1:12 barrel out of life i plan to change...

Re: new best @ 500

Bill, I say that because of the fast burn rate and hot load potential of w748.

Re: Nosler Custom Reloading Brass 204 In stock at Midway

Anyone tried these through the long throated Remington700? I would like to try them but my rifle must have been made by deep throat himself!!

Re: new best @ 500

Interesting...nicely done too. I'd say you have your calculations down. Do you do this because you don't shoot a mil reticle scope? For me its easier to have my zero as the highest flyer ....

Re: looking for a 700 short action...

I want a quality scope, 30mm tube preferred power range of 16-18 on the high side. Mil dot or close variant reticle.

Re: recommend me a scope ?

If you are still looking, i put a Millet on my .204 and couldnt be happier. It is a 4-16 power, 30mm tube with an illuminated reticle. Price was right and it has held zero on many different adjustment settings. I shoot it at 0-500 yards and easily see my impacts on steel...I will say though that it ...

looking for a 700 short action...

I am in the market for a rem 700 short action. I am interested in action alone or a 700 short action rifle if the price is feasible. I need the action for a upcoming build in .260 remington; on that note i'll also be looking for a worthy scope for the topside...cmon i know they are out there and i'v...

Re: new best @ 500

you gotta expand on that a little bit,....you have the same impact point at 300 as you do 50yds? what powder and amount is enabling that? If that is true i am very interested to know what happens with your setup beyond the 300yd range. that is some intense ballistics...

Re: new best @ 500

40 bergers and h4895 are the most accurate loads I have made. W748 is a good one for the shooter that is willing to allow his barrel to rest between shots. I like it due to the high velocity/less drop ability it can produce.
