Weekend at Bunnies

To those not overly familiar with shooting in Oz the rabbit came out with the first fleet but really flourished in the mid 1800s. As per the NSW Government’s department of primary industries website “The European rabbit is declared a noxious animal in NSW. Landholders are obliged to control rabbit p...

Re: Finally!!!!!

My wish that my next foxes were not going to take as long came true. My ex-workmate, Kev, called me up to say that his old school friend, Jim, had invited us to shoot foxes in the Parkes area of NSW. Was I interested – of course. The drive is a bit over 5 hours West from Sydney and we left early eno...

Re: Finally!!!!!

Hi Boomer84, I am using Hornady V-Max 32grains. It is surprising how consistently they shoot considering they are off the shelf ammo. I've been impressed with the results when shooting at rabbits. The rifle came with some handloaded ammo which was shooting all over the place and when they were taken...

Finally!!!!!

Hello 204 Ruger fans, It has taken a long, long time but I have finally cracked a long standing shooting goal of mine. Between projects at the moment and took the opportunity for a road trip with my father to visit an old neighbour with a 6km² property on which he runs cattle, sheep and some crops. ...

We now have coyotes in Oz??? When did that happen?? Don't know how the dingoes, foxes, feral cats and wild dogs will feel about the extra competition on the food chain but I don't think the shooters will mind too much.... :D

Re: White mist

His gun is quite a few years old. It seems they were/are popular in Germany but with the tightening of the gun rules people are selling them off as time goes on. Actually the drilling is surprisingly light (says the guy with the heavy varmint barrel) as they seem to have used some sort of alloy in t...

White mist

Had an unexpected case of white mist over the weekend. Being Australian I’ll be using metres rather than yards but I hope you’ll enjoy the recap. One of the benefits to a very early start are mornings like this. http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/w629/Varofdark/P1000390_zps02889806.jpg Went hunting...

Re: Hello and a question on bullet stabilisation

Thanks for those responses especially the information about stabilisation at the 100 yard mark. Even though the rifle seemed to be shooting well at the 100 yard mark I wasn't sure if I would have to put targets out at 200 or 300 yard distances to find out about the stabilisation issues I kept readin...

Hello and a question on bullet stabilisation

G’day, I have a question on bullet stabilisation but I figure that as I am new to this electronic neighbourhood it is kind of rude to go straight into a question without introducing myself. Firstly I want to say that I have immensely enjoyed reading the contributions and touches of humour to what I ...
