Re: Is there something wrong?

I'll be the first to say it's the ammunition. I shot Fiocchi out of my .204 Howa and almost all of the primers were pierced. It was bad enough to foul the firing pin so I would have to disassemble the bolt to clean it out. I believe they are using soft primers. The brass seems ok but I haven't reloa...

Re: Re: Ruger 204 predator series ammo

My M77 V/T loves the 39 grain blitzkings!
I'm pushing them with IMR 8208 xbr and getting around 3800 fps.

Re: Why no H4198 Loads?

I did a little work with H4198 in my 204 but had better results with other powders. Mainly 8208xbr. The 4198 does very well in my .17 HH.

Cool! My 77 Mk. II VT .204 is big sister and my 77/17 Hornet is little sister like yours!

Re: H4198 and the 204

I've done some ok loads with H4198 in .204.
I have had real good luck with it for .17 Hornet.

Re: Curse those Fins and their superior powder-making abilit

I've had excellent results with 8208 and 39 and 32 grain bullets. Most of the time 5 shot groups touching at 100 yards.
I may need to look into the Vihtavuori.

Re: Need a cat and grey fox bullet got all the reloading stu

Hi I did find where some guys was talking about them and said they was very good primer plus for a AR. I know in midway magtech is 3.00 higher than other primers i don't know why. One guy said they was a little thicker good for reloading in AR's. That's what the older man used them for his AR. But ...

Re: New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !

Hey thanks for the tip on that load, I'll take a look at that. Does your rifle do a little sideways stringing after the 3rd shot ? Mine does. Not bad, but it is noticeable. I attribute that to the barrel stock contact. I wonder why Ruger didn't free float the barrel ? That seems to be a given accur...

Re: Adjusting M77 Mk. II VT trigger.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I did. I have it down to around 2 lbs. I put 120 rounds through it today with no problems. I found I had to put a shorter set screw for the trigger weight adjustment or it would hit the stock. I also found that the two rear action screws can also effect it. Now I may ...

Re: Adjusting M77 Mk. II VT trigger.

I think I'm close. I can get it to about 2lbs (using a trigger scale) but it isn't always cosistent. One out of twenty trigger pulls, the trigger goes to mush. In other words, no take up and a looooong sloopy pull. When it's adjusted right it's a great trigger, just wish I could get a reliable 1.5. ...

Re: Adjusting M77 Mk. II VT trigger.

If you could find them that would be great! What pull weight(s) did you get it to? I need to clean it today so it may be a good day to pull it out of the stock and do some fiddling. I appreciate the reply, I wasn't sure how many people had work with these triggers. It doesn't seem there's a lot of d...

Adjusting M77 Mk. II VT trigger.

Has anyone adjusted this particular setup to about 2 to 1.5 lbs? Seems whenever I get it to around 2 lbs. I loose the 2 stage and the trigger is just one long mushy pull. I got it back to stock no problems but before I try it again i would at least lie to know it is possible. I have these instructio...

Re: Somchem S321 and S341

I have access to quite a bit actually. I'm starting out with 5 pounds of 341, If I can work up a good load, I'll get more.
Yes, I'll start low and work my way up.
Thanks for the reply.

Somchem S321 and S341

I'm looking to see if anyone has any load data for the .204 using these powders. Their website doesn't list it for this particular caliber. According to their burn rate table the S321 is about equivelent to H4198 and the S341 is around the BLC-2 or IMR4895. I will be shooting mostly 32 gr Hornady bu...
