Re: Tikka T3 Lite/Ruger M77 Mark II!

You should chrono the new gun and see what they are running. I did shortly after this post. Made a mistake on original post above, bullet velocity with my Ruger was 3978 ft/sec. In my Tikka, I got 3653 ft/sec. (5 shot average), so a loss of 325 ft/sec., does that make sense to you guys? Do you know...

Tikka T3 Lite/Ruger M77 Mark II!

Good day every one, As per the title says, I changed my Ruger and bought a T3 lite in .204 this year, my Ruger was way too heavy and was starting to wear on me on long walks, especially with the bipod on. Didn't have to change loads as it was just about as good with the Tikka as it was with the Ruge...

Re: Another small caliber bullet supplier

I knew about this guy in Wetaskawin, he didn't have bullets for the .204 then. Singleshot, When you get the info, please post it. Also, I don't know why you're doing so poorly with the Bergers. For me, it was the other way around, the 39 gr. BK's were making too much damage to my liking and when I s...

Re: Elite 4200 6X24X50, 30mm

Hey guys, Went to Calgary and bought a Leupold VARI X III LR 4.5 X 14 X 50 in 30mm, Varmint Reticle and side focus. Had to buy some new rings (Leupold) to fit my Ruger M77 as well as the Leupold flip caps and a 4" sunshade. Will eventually send it in to get the tactical turrets put on...next ye...

Re: Elite 4200 6X24X50, 30mm

Thanks everybody for your inputs, I have considered every statements and they all make sense. The reason I like the Elite is because it's a tactical scope, big knobs, 30mm tube, the free sunshade and it's not AO. I have nothing against AO, I just like a side focus better. I wish they made this scope...

Re: Elite 4200 6X24X50, 30mm

Yeah! that's right, forgot to say what it was for. Mostly PD in the early summer months and coyote/fox in the winter. I already have a cheap 6X24 on the rifle and it's fine by me as far as power goes. I know I should use lower power for predators, especially if you call them in close, I never had an...

Elite 4200 6X24X50, 30mm

I've been looking at bying a new scope for my .204 for a year now but was always undecided as to what I should acquire. So I was reading on another forum that some guy bought an Elite 4200 6 X 24 X 50, 30mm tube and although he didn't try it yet, he said he heard some really good reviews about it. B...

Barrel Life???

Good day all, I don't know if this subject came up before. I searched it thru the forum and couldn't find anything about it. Is it true that barrel life in a .204 is not compromised because of the bullet's diameter or something like that? I red that the barrel on a .204 will last you the life of the...

Yes! I know the man. Blueridge is right, the guy's name is Marty Senneker and he's from Hayes, Alberta. Marty is the inventor of the "Stinger Killer Spring" used on snares to catch coyotes. Marty is a 700 to 1100 coyotes a year kindda guy, so he does really well. He shoots them too, but mo...

About defective Win. brass, I bought a total of 500 and I had 1 bag that had 3 real bad ones in it. As described above, it looks like too much oil upon resizing. All 3 necks were split, 2 had bowl like dents in them with split neck with one of them having a big chip of brass hanging of the case mout...

Had my .204 since July and it took me 2 months to shoot it for lack of time. Anyway! this is what gave me the best accuracy. Ruger M77 MKII, "26 heavy barrel Sierra BK 39 gr. BLC(2) 29.8 gr. CCI 450 Magnum Primers Winchester Brass, Neck Turned Case trimmed at 1.840 OAL 2.300" 5 shot group ...
