I'm in the southern San Joaquin Valley in California and the three-year drought here has really taken its toll on the game predators eat. We are seeing as many bobcats as coyotes. Haven't gotten my first of either yet since September.

Re: Non-Lead .204 Ammo???

I'm about as far from California as one can get in this country but..... The 26gn Barnes Varmint grenade are the only "non lead" pill for the 204. The VG's are the only non lead pill for any caliber I know of unless you consider the solid copper pills in big bores. You shooters in Kalifor...

Re: Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08

I am loading tonight for another trip Sunday morning to Tejon. I will take my camera and try to get some photos of Deer, Elk or Pigs. I am sure I will take a few pics of blown up squirrels too but we have all seen those before. Will your buddy be shooting lead again? Sounds like Tejon Ranch is not ...

Non-Lead .204 Ammo???

What are you California coyote hunters doing for .204 ammo if you are hunting in the condor No-Lead Zone? So far the only thing I have found is some .26 gr stuff that used Barnes bullets. I don't reload.

Thanks,

Re: howa 1500 .204

adjusted the boys howa down to 3lbs last night, was relatively easy thanks to the help from this forum, actually got it down to 2 1/4 lbs but I think thats too light for him, it's currently set at a crisp 3lbs with no creep! Your are very lucky if you were able to adjust out the creep without locki...

Re: opinion on Howa

The Howa Hogue is getting alot of good feedback in the accuracy dept. Can anyone comment on their experience with this rifle? How does it compare with the CZ american as far as accuracy, fit and finish, and bolt function? I bought a Howa/Houge in 22.250 and .270 WSM last month and they are both sho...

Re: Nikko Stirling

I saw that acloco and Lee got some Nikko-Stirling night eaters and was wondering if anybody else had them and the pros and cons. I am wanting a 3-9 (3-10 in this case) to put on my HDR for yotes. How do they perform in low light? How do they compare to the VX-I (not including warranty)? And do you ...

I know the feeling. I love my Savage .204, but I get to pickup my new Howa/Houge 22.250 next Monday. :P
