Ballistic Plex recticle

Do any of you guys have experience shooting the .204 using a Burris Ballistic Plex recticle? I'm curious how the elevation markings in the scope work for this round. I realize the recticle is more designed for the .223, .22-250, etc, but if anyone has done a little experimenting with this scope in t...

Re: To build or not to build, that is the question

So another rookie question, I'm looking at the JP handguards and like these...

http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.4_hg.php

My question is this: When I buy a JP free-float tube is this what they are talking about? Is it just the handguard or is there more to it?

Thanks for any help!

To build or not to build, that is the question

So I've been wanting an AR in 204 for some time now. I've looked at DPMS, Remington, Bushmaster, this website, other websites, & on & on. I reload the 39 gr Sierra Blitzkings for my bolt rifle and would most likely use this particular bullet in my AR, whenever it comes into being. My questio...

trevort-

Being of partial Irish decent myself, I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. Hopefully I'll be borrowing a chronograph in the near future and finishing this little project. The next pictures I'll be posting will be bleeding

Happy hunting!

Re: 204 test loads *pics*

Thanks for sharing the images of your groups, OldTurtle! Are you sighting in .5 inch high at 100 yds?

What method do you guys use for adjusting your seating depth? Right now I'm just seating them for the recommended COL.

TIA!

Re: 204 test loads *pics*

Hotshot-
Thanks for sharing your load. So I am reading varying reports on just what isthe max load for 39 gr BK and H4895...... is it 26.5 gr ?

By the way, let me know if they need any cattle veterinarians out there in Montana. I know of 2 vets that are willing to relocate!

Re: 204 test loads *pics*

So what loads do your rifles like with the H4895 and 39 gr Sierra BlitzKings? I'll check the pet loads sticky, but thought I'd ask here as well to see what works well for you guys....

Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it!

Re: 204 test loads *pics*

Well, I reloaded some more of the H4895 powder and 39 grain Sierra Blitzkings and fired 5 rounds of 26.4 gr at 200 yds, then 5 rounds of the same at 100 yds. Here's what that looked like. 26.4 grains of H4895 at 100 yds http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/DarkNight/204%20reloads/DSC00854.jpg at 20...

Re: 204 test loads *pics*

acloco- Forgive me for not providing more detail. Hopefully the following will shed more light on what rifle is shooting these groups: I'm shooting a stock Savage 12 vlp with a heavy, stainless-steel fluted barrel. It sports the stock Accutrigger that came out of the box with a 1.25 pound trigger w...
