Re: 39gr. Bullets

I basically used the 40gr load data, but found the best-shooting load fell short enough of the 40gr's max. that it was of no concern. Trial and error. I also wanted 32gr. V-Max to be the best shooter in my 1:12" (makes sense...right?) but 4 powders, and 4 bullets later...it was the 39gr. SBKs a...

Re: 3 plus a flyer?

Let me expand on that~it's private, with 1 range available for "walk-ins" @ $30 for the day. There are rather militant RSO's who (for good reasons, probably) treat everyone on that particular range as severe liabilities. It draws all kinds of people, many with very little experience, so an...

Re: 3 plus a flyer?

Hey Rick~thanks for chiming in. Noted. Sadly, the only range I shoot at is a public one...with very limited facilities, so not sure how I'd tackle taking that on unless it was on the tailgate of my truck with cold wind blowing in my face. ;) Might consider that as an option next time though, thanks ...

3 plus a flyer?

Hey guys~range trip #2 under my belt, and while fatigue started playing a role after about 4 hours, the results are in. Having reviewed my targets, I noticed a bit of a trend. 3-4 shots grouped nicely, and a flyer. The flyer wasn't always the last shot either. There was a Benelli R1 (30-06) to my le...

Re: H4895+Cooper 1:12"~favorite bullets/data?

Hey Rick~thanks for chiming in. Yeah, nasty here today...about -4C and 30km/h winds. If you're from up here..I don't need to do any conversion for you! ;) Guess I'll dust-off the 40grs again and try them out. Pretty ugly groups using them with H322, and I haven't bothered to look if there is any pro...

H4895+Cooper 1:12"~favorite bullets/data?

Hey guys~thanks to everyone who chimed-in on the last thread (H322) and I now have loads worked-up using it and some RL-10x. Today, I had a chance to pick-up some H4895 so I did. Wondering if you guys have any data you'd like to share, to get me started. My Googling seemed to turn-up a few ideas usi...

Re: Berger 35gr. and H322~help!

Thanks guys! Little dilemma since my last post~my local dealer has RL10x in stock, and another dealer (about 45 mins. away) has H4895 due in Tues./Wed. of next week. I told them to put a couple of pounds aside for me when it shows up...but I may be complicating things now. SEEMS to make sense that ....

Re: Berger 35gr. and H322~help!

Hi Ramos~thanks for the input! I'll check on the availability of the RL10X now, how does it stack-up speed-wise to H322?

Berger 35gr. and H322~help!

hey guys~round #1 of load testing gave me some curious results in my new 1:12" Cooper 51. Best was; 32gr. V-Max near the low-end of powder charges spec., 39gr. Sierra BKs at the higher end~all using H322. I don't have the data in front of me, but I will be refining the loads in the coming week,...

.010" off the lands?

Hey guys~I'm totally new to this forum, AND to .204 R. I just took delivery of my first one, a Cooper M51 and priority #1 is working-up some loads for it. As I did with my Savage .223 a few years back, I set-out to try and determine the proper OAL for the finished round but found that not only are t...
