Re: Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50 vs VX-3 8-25x50LR
I have a Zeiss Conquest 6.5X - 20X on my Cooper. It has the Varmint reticule an I love it! BUT you have to remember that the turrets adjust backward from the "normal" scopes. One very interesting app you can get for your iPhone (and probably others) is Strelok Pro that will tailor your var...

SF adjustment procedure
This from Benchrest board. Those who frequent SH know that many of us have been frustrated with the Side Focus (SF) Leupold LRT Scopes. In particular the near impossibility, at some distances to have zero parallax and maximum target sharpness. This posting, from a professional optics tester helps ex...

Re: Favorite Loads
I have worked, worried, and been kept up at night looking for THE load for my Cooper 204. Found it yesterday - 29.3 grains of IMR 8208 XBR with a 34 grain Z-max bullet and Wolf small rifle magnum primer ina Winchester case. OAL is 2.287". QuickLoad says this load is right at Maximum so work up ...

Re: Primer question for .204 ruger
I use Wolf SRM primers in my 204R as my ES is smaller than with Rem 7 1/2 or Fed GMM. I have found this to be true with my 6mmBR as well as the large primer cases such as 308 and 284. I shoot Long Range High Power and have a High Master classification, so they are working well for me. But as said ab...

Re: 204 ruger blowby?
I got the same thing in my Cooper. I think it is either low pressure or a slow pressure curve.
I switched to IMR 8208 XBR and got better accuracy and NO blow by.

Sources for new 204 cases
Just got a Cooper 204 Ruger and am loving it! Found IMR 8208 XBR and this gun are a happy marriage.
But can't seem to find any new cases other than Nosler. Anyone have a source.

Z-Max vs. A-Max
The Z-Max Hornady 32 grain bullets are MUCH cheaper than the Hornady A-Max 32 grain bullets.
I am wondering if there is a difference in quality?

Seating depth/jump?
I have a Cooper and a friend just got a Remington, both in 204 Ruger. Both have L O N G throats and this is the first time we have owned a 204 Ruger. My question is at what seating depth are you loading either gun? It seems that to keep the bullets (32 Grain V-Max and 32 Grain Z-Max bullets) seated ...
