Found a .22 conversion kit for my Kimber...

a couple of days ago. After a trip to the range with several brands of ammo, I have a better grasp of what will shoot reliably, and what won't. It didn't like any kind of std velocity ammo. My gun really liked Winchester Power Point, and CCI high velocity. Just wondering what your conversion kit lik...

Question for pd shooters...

Assuming most folks are shooting off a table or bench of some kind...are you shooting off bags or a mechanical rest? I've always used bags, but thinking about taking my rest this year. Is the mechanical rest too slow and time consuming to line up targets? Unfortunately, I don't have a rotating table...

Re: How do you guys work up your loads?

Keep in mind that some rifles don't like the 40 gr bullets. Mine really like the 39 gr blitzkings, and aren't really crazy about the 40's. If the 40's don't work out, try some 32, and 39 gr bullets.

No photos, but it DID happen...

while on one of my turkey hunting trips. Been watching several "jakes" and hens moving up the pasture. After they moved out of sight, I was moving just inside the woodline and spotted a coyote across the pasture. He was out of shotgun range, but I managed to sit down while he was looking o...

Good spring in Ga...

should probably have quit while I was on a roll. Killed two birds in first three trips out, but took several more trips to finish my limit. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/nr123_photos/Turkey3-28-13_zpsdea59f70.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/nr123_photos/Turkey4-2-13_zps64adac...

Re: Re-Barreling a Cooper

Cooper has a "real deal" on re-barreling if you bought the rifle new. If not, I think the charge is around $435 to replace the barrel. Don't hold me to that, but I did re-barrel my .204 Varminter after last years pd trip.

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor

I've had the Hornady Comparitor for several years, and it's relatively easy to use. However, when trying to get measurements on my two .204's, I never could get consistent numbers. After multiple tries, I finally gave up and seated to recommended OAL that Cooper gave me. I never had problems with ot...

Re: New to forum and a new cooper 204R

I use Benchmark in both my Coopers, shooting 32 Blitzkings in one, and 39 Blitzkings in the other. I did some limited loading with 10X, which did produce some good results in both accuracy and speed. However, with loads already worked out with Benchmark, I decided not to change.

Re: best bullet gr for groundhogs

When I saw Rick's pics of those rock chucks killed with his 20 VT, that convinced me I had to have one. I've killed several ground hogs here in Ga with a 22-250 that didn't have that kind of damage. I was shooting a 50 gr v-max on the groundhogs, and rarely had an exit. I would have to agree with Ri...

Re: 20 VarTarg Questions?

Finally got on the bandwagon after Rick, and several others finally convinced me (I'm hard headed). Couldn't be happier with my Cooper 20 VT. It and my other Coopers performed well in the pd fields of SD this year. Here is photo of mine, flanked by my other .204's. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums...
