Re: Alter Obsessions

I used to have an obsession with chasing those temperamental fish, but with them being more moody than the wife, I put them on the back burner and just chase them part time now (good weather days). I chase the elusive crappie but just enough to keep some in freezer for those days when we can't decid...

68 and gaining on 69. I have 2 204R's, and two 20P's. Low recoil is my friend. 😂

Re: Favorite 20 Caliber cartridge??

I have two each of the 204R and 20 Practicals, 3 out of the 4 have threaded barrels so I can use a suppressor or brake. I know, a brake is not really needed for these calibers, but a brake all but eliminates any muzzle flip and allows me to watch the "show" so to speak. One 20 P has a 1.2&...

Re: Ordered a new .204 -

Congrats on the addition to the family. I recently purchased a new to me 204R as well, Savage LPV action with a Shilen barrell, threaded for a brake/suppressor of my choice in the bedded Savage stock. I'm waiting on rings to arrive so I can mount a scope, and load some ammo to see how it does. Previ...

Re: What is a Small Caliber

I agree the 224 should be considered small caliber, but just wondering if the 20/22br's are welcome?? I would hope so, jus cause they use more powder, doesn't mean the size of the bullet changed. LOL

IF you have a PU set up for a 5th wheel with the high hitch point, you're all set, otherwise, not so much.

Re: New Forum Title?

I saw where Specialty Pistol forum was shutting down at the end of 2022, so maybe some of those guys could find a new place to hang out here. I recently acquired another 20P barrel, so I'm starting the process of gathering up the parts needed. I ordered a Boyd's PV stock last week, and need to take ...

Re: Good day to reload 204 and other 20 calibers

It's mid 70's here today, wore shorts while doing a couple chores here. The heat might cycle 1-2 times in the morning, a light jacket feels good early during the first dog walk, but it's been warming up to the 70's the past few days. More of the same in the forecast, with little chance of rain. We a...

Re: How many rounds to burn out a .204 bbl?

It really depends on "how" the gun was shot. Out in a pdog/rat field and the shooter was under heavy attack, one can burnup/toast a barrel in a day if the barrel gets too hot to hold you hand on. Using really hot/fast loads will shorten the barrel life as well. Even powder selection in the...

Re: Tikka T3 Varmint & Savage 12 FV

My FV12 204R has the 26" barrel, and shoots the 32g vmax and 39g Sierra very well. The 12T barrel doesn't shoot the 40's nearly as well. YMMV.
