Another shoot in Lassen Co.
April 22,23 Bieber2.jpg April 22,23 Bieber1.jpg I didn't put the squirrel on the fence, I shot him in the grass under the fence, he took flight above the top wire and landed on the second strand. He was staring at me, I hit him with a 32gr Vmax at 120 yards the bullet exiting out the back just befo...

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch
Dont think the shooters could put them on the endangered list, hevens knows I try though. I actually try to avoid the fat ones in the Spring, especially the Cannibals as I think their the females needing the protein.

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch
Well stated, that is Gun Porn...yeah. 338-06 is a local favorite where we Elk hunt in MT. I had a retired miltary friend who recommended a Leatherwood, had one on my 22-250 for a long time held up well, replaced with VX-L. Maybe another rat shoot early next week, gotta take a grand kid home anyway, ...

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch
Nice Pics Rick, after last two shoots it's definitely time to reload, I've fallen behind the power curve on that. I also am a Leopold fan, I have them on a 06, 300 win mag, and a muzzleloader, and you probably noticed the VL-X (9 years old) on my Savage, I took it off my 22-250 Rem 722.

Re: A good start to April
I bought a box and shot some at the range, wasn't very careful about comparing but seemed to shoot pretty close, I also shot the remainder of the box maybe 30-35 on the last squeaker shoot, I thought at the time I was trying too hard for them to be inferior but thought the good ol' thump sound wasn'...

Re: surprise valley squirrel roundup
Friday morning there was 1.5" of new snow in Cedarville, 7" in Burney, and almost 4 feet in La Porte East of Oroville. I had to remind myself a couple times that I was having fun.
