Forester 204R bump ?die

Dose anyone here have and uses a Forester 204R bump neck die? Did it work? Did the neck inserts that came with the die work for your brass? Could you bump the shoulder without the inserts? Thanks

Re: slowing down a 32gr vmax

https://www.hodgdon.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/h4895-reduced-rifle-loads.pdf This is the Hodgdon page that shows how to download with H4895. I have used H4895 to download a whole handful of cartridges and it is very predictable. If you download it 20% you will real close to a 20% drop in speed. ...

Re: SAMMI Headspace?

CIP drawing don't give Headspace. The closest they get is length from base to shoulder-start of neck. *****BRAIN FART*** I have the chamber numbers. I bought Todd Kindlers book on 20 cal cartridges and the drawing is in the back. Pacific Tool drawing shows 1.5612"min/1.5682"max @ .330"...

SAMMI Headspace?

Dose anyone out there have a copy of the SAMMI case and chamber drawings for the 204 R that can be read? The drawing on the SAMMI site looked like they were copied about 20 time and then posted. I need the headspace (max and min) lengths for the case and chamber, Thanks

Re: Win brass?

I also uses a BenzaOmatic torch with a Lee case trimmer lock stud (fits in electric screwdrive) and a Lee case gage shell holder (looks like reg shell holder but has threads that screws onto end of lock stud. You only need one lock stud but a different shell holder for each case size. If you are onl...

Re: Rifle advice!

If I don't hit the MegaLotto before Dec and can't get a CZ 527, I will most likely get a TC Compass in 204 from galeryofguns for about $400 Out The Door (order off the internet-send downpayment to them-they send it to FL dealer of your choice-when it comes in you pay balance to shop. I have bought f...

Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder

People-People People- a lot of you are getting way to anal about published loading data. The last time I checked Moses did not have any load data with him when came down from Mt. Sinai . There are at the min. about 100 variables in the component's and gun when you load a case. Bullet and powder manf...

Re: Resized brass to a 6x45 and have a doughnut...

Cheapest and easiest way to get rid of them is to get a Forester "inside neck reamer'. You will need a Forester case trimer. You put it on trimer and run it into a fired and unseized case. This should be a one time thing. Midway sells them for $24.50

Re: Bullets: Boat tail vs. Flat base???

If you are loading compressed loads of slow powder , the flat base bullet will let you put more powder in the case. Also I see the side wall taper of the boattail contacting the inside of the case mouth so the case mouth is opened to outside bullet dia. as it contact the side wall.

Re: Anyone using Norma powder in their 204?

https://www.norma.cc/en/Ammunition-Academy/om-handladdning/brinntider-for-krut/ This is a link to a Norma burn rate/pressure chart that you might want to look at. Its different than most because they used a 308 cartridge with the same bullet and powder weight and about 70 different powders. Look at ...
