Re: Vmax ok for coyotes?

Ditto the HSM ammo loaded with Berger HPs. Also you might try the Win. 34gr HP. I only managed to get one coyote while I was on factory ammo but I hit one badly (too far back) and it didn't go anywhere, just spun around a bit. Plus the 34s are the cheapest factory ammo I ever found.

Re: cartridge boxes

I know most of us are off-put by Fleebay but....I did save some bucks with my boxes there. Several people sell them in lots of 5 or more, I think I only paid about $1.50 ea. for mine.

Re: I found my Christmas Gift!!!!

I'm with acloco on this one!!! Sure you could buy, what, 6 factory rifles for that kind of cash? But none of your friends would be interesed in that story.
$2000 seems like a very reasonable price to me!
Now if it were only the Sturm, Ruger factory!! :chin:

Re: Got my first coyote yesterday evening!!!!

I wouldn't go back that soon, unless its your only option. If so I would DEFINATELY use a different call/or sequence. I don't have enough experience to say that you WOULD be educating the dogs but I get into few enough of them that I go out of my way not to educate them. If you give it a week there ...

Re: 30gr Berger

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I just fired my 1st ladder with the 30s. (1st with any Berger reloads) As with all bullet weights and brands in my rifle, my best groups were about 3/4 of the way to the top. 27.6gr H4895. Groups were the same as other brands also. About .7"-.8" + that one da...

Re: coyote and 40 noslers

Actually I do have the to and from work part. Monday this week I saw 4 bull elk try to cross the road right in front of my pickup. 2 were 6 pts and one of them was a nice bull. I'm not great at scoring but I would guess him in the 270-320 club. It had my motor revving all week, never have gotten ano...

Happy Anniversary!!!

I had to post this today as I will be working tomorrow. Thanks to all of you that have helped to incubate in me the virus that is precision varmit sniping. I already loved it with the .270 and was considering a more suitable varmint caliber. Finding this forum just made my mind up for me. One year, ...

The ballistics say over 370lbs of energy left at 400yrds. If the bullet hits vitals it should have the desired results way past 400.

Re: Looking for places to hunt PD in Wyoming

Bri, I can gladly give up my old spot as I moved out of SLC (thank God!) a little over a year ago. Go up through Evanston to the Kemmerer exit. Go north. JUST past mile marker 18 there is a little dirt road on the left with a gate. Don't worry it's public land. Go west on that road. You will start ...
