Re: Rockchuck Condo
SecretCode : Looks like another good time afield. There's nothing like a solid hit on a ground squirrel and the resultant rat-o-batics they give. Always a fun sight. A wabbit is just icing on that cake when out n' about with your rifle. As for jackwabbits, many times while out shooting grass rats, ...

Re: Rockchuck Condo
Nice wright up Rick. Thanks. I got a few new prairie roads added to my list of places to hit. Was able to get a few 13 lined GS's and a slightly more rare Richardson GS.
Just about home and found a young Jack out running around.

Re: Found some RL10x
Well they're a bit bigger than a dime but this load is getting put to work. The 13 lined Ground Squirrels are out and about finally. The grass is just about to high in the ditches. Hard part is lining up on them as they only stop for a second or so. Then back to running around playing grab butt. Sna...

Found some RL10x
I finally found some RL10x at scheels in Rochester MN when we were down for National's Dance competition last weekend for my daughter (her team took 2nd and 5th in the two discipline's they were in by the way). I have been looking for this powder to try with light 32 grain bullets since I started re...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024
For Pete Sake. How in the heck did I miss this thread. It's May 1st for crying out loud. Kick my own butt if I could. I messed up last time and didn't return my target in time. That's on me. I fully intend to shoot and return on time. Especially with the generous time frame that Skipper gives us. An...

Re: The Annual 2024 Rat Rodeo
Thanks once again Rick. Wait patiently for this update every year. Spring has finally sprung for us in SE ND. The striped and richardton ground Squirrels are out on road edges and ditches finally. I am getting dead rodent picks every sunny day from friends out and about. The fields are dry enough to...

Re: Gopher Shootin’ 2024
The striped gophers are finally out and about in ND. Spring has sprung. Have gotten a little soft with my MKIV Hunter. They are still safe for now. KEep up the good fight!

Re: Ruger Hawkeye Predator .204 (~$1100) or Savage 110 Predator .204 (~$850)?
FWIW I ordered the Savage 12 LRPV .204. It seemed like the best factory option currently available. I may look into a 20 Vartarg 1:11 once I shoot out the barrel. Yer kinda freaking me out. That's exactly what I have in mind for when my barrel toasts. It'll be awhile but that's the plan. Good choice.

Secret : Nice job there, sir, very well done! :wtg: I'm assuming you are a dedicated BR shooter by the looks of your design, also a skilled man in the machine shop. When it comes to our passion, nothing is considered 'over the top', and your example of front rest shows both your interest and skill....

Re: bench rests
The MGM is not a bad way to go, the Caldwell "The Rock" is also a nice looking option. I made my own but for what I have into it the rock would have been a very even up option. I went as far as to order Kaizen foam specifically for a 22" Rigid pack box and custom cut it for a my rest ...

Re: Ruger Hawkeye Predator .204 (~$1100) or Savage 110 Predator .204 (~$850)?
It's preference at the end of the day. Which one do you want to look at more and handle more. I love accurate guns but it makes it all the more enjoyable to shoot if it looks and handles well. I've had the older Ruger's with the tang safety. Savage is and still is what I seem to end up with at the e...

Re: I had an unwelcome visitor last night...
All I've ever heard was to have a blanket near by or over the trap to begin with and slowly cover the trap and to drown 'em in the river or slough. Thankfully have never had to trap them. Always have been able to pick them off with a shotgun or rifle well away from dwellings.

MTPaul, preparation can start at the first pull of the trigger on that new rifle. Especially after you've found a factory load it likes. Stockpile what you can and shoot it up at your intended targets and Save That Fireformed Brass!

Thanks Skipper that's very intriguing and helpful. It always blew me away with the number of views on some threads. I guess I had know about the bots (nothing more than what you explained) from other sites and searches.
