Re: face lift on site

Thanks for the feedback, I'll work on making it easier on the 'more mature' eyes... :D In the meantime, you can change the style to the default 'prosilver' in the control panel if the text is unbearable. We just did the same with upgrade with http://www.burntpowder.com/forum/index.php If you need a...

Re: Rem 700 SA in .223 to 2-VT

Not much to add other than having done both a .223 M700 and a .17FB M7 build, the M7 which was originally a fireball feeds and extracts my .20VT cases perfectly. I had Bob Green put a Sako extractor on my M700 build as it is now a .17FB and it extracts perfectly but I have not thoroughly tested the ...

Re: Looking back at 2011 (in pics)

Thought I would join in on the fun if you'all don't mind. From my PD trip out to SD in September. Savage Model 12 in .204. Devcon bedded in a Duramaxx stock with a Vortex Viper 6-20x44 sitting on top. Quickly became one of my favorite long range guns. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s249/SShooter...

Re: Howa 1500, Varmint barrel

I've got 4 of them. All shooters. Bought 2 of those Varmint models, one in .243 and one in .308, dropped them in B&C TM2 stocks and working on load development with them right now. Very promising with the groups I have been getting. I also have a Supreme Varminter in .223 that is one of thee mos...

Re: Do Noslers take a back seat to ??

My Savage 12 likes 32gr BKs and 40gr Noslers if that makes sense.

Doesn't like any of the Hornady bullets. :wall:

Thank you to the Reloading Forum here at .204 Ruger

First and foremost, thanks for getting me hooked on this hot little round. Have been having a lot of fun with it. Secondly, thanks to the advice of many as I've read through the forum re: load development. I started to take the "ladder approach" and was able to hit some loads that gave me ...

I've seen similar success with my Hornet also. Just a great gun, great round and so much fun to shoot.

Re: Can pistol primers be used instead of small rifle primers?

If you reload for the .22 Hornet, pistol primers can actually come in quite handy.

Re: 39 grain blitzking and BLC-2 powder

Do some extrapolating from the Hodgdon site, I would guess that a starting load of 28 grains with a max load of 30 grains would be a good starting point. I'll check my Sierra manual later but I'm pretty sure they don't list a load for .204. To clarify, I am referring to BL-C(2). Sorry about that. :o...

Re: 22 Hornet

Does the Lux not come with a Set Trigger?

I know on my 527 I can dial it in to easily 1 1/2 lbs in set trigger mode and close to 3-4 lbs in regular mode.

Either way, best of luck with it! Should be a great shooter!

Also, quick FYI, mine hated the 36gr Varmint Grenades. Keyholed like crazy.

Re: 22 Hornet

The problem you run into isn't with the objective but the eye piece. I've always found Nikon Buckmasters to fit the 527 the best. I would go with high rings depending on the size of your Leupold. Or, as some have done, send the bolt out to be "bent" and you'll be able to clear the eye piec...
