Re: Primer choices

I have always had the best luck with the rem. 7.5 primers and the worst accuracy with cci-400 and cci-450. fed primers were nest best to the rem.

Re: Which 204 brass is better for reloading?

Stay away from Winchester brass--I can hardly believe they still try to make it. the last two bags of that brand I bought there were several that had cracked or useless brass new out of the box. I just used some .300 wsm brass with oversize case rims that would not eject from the bolt face. then I b...

Re: bolt face to Lands Savage M12fv

I have a savage mod. 12 fv. it has along jump to the lands but not to worry using 39 grain sierra's and 25 grains H-322 and Rem 7 1/5 primers it puts four bullets in about .188" at 100 yards. at 69 years I might not shoot as good as you but .188" groups makes me very happy.

Re: WSM .223

hoppes will get the copper out but you have to soak the bbl really good and let it set over nite. it might need to be done several nights . another thing I use is copper killer it takes time and elbow grease to clean up a badly coppered barrel. I have found a product called PB Blocker which when use...

Re: IMR ENDURON POWDERS

I heard that 26 grain barnes bullets and IMR 4166 shoots 1/2" groups at 200 yards. just fill the case full seat the bullet and go shoot. it sounded like a good story so I went home and after checking the manual I found that the max load did in fact fill the case to the top of the neck. I backed...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?

I use a hornady neck turning tool. it cost about $60 from mid south shooting supply. you need a pilot for each caliber, it comes with one and the extras aren't very expensive. after trimming a case it leaves quite a burr on the case neck and I use this tool to remove that and it leaves a perfectly s...

Re: Pb blocker

I have used this in most of my guns and have had excellent results. the directions said to apply to a warm barrel. I removed the stocks and warmed the barrels with a small propane torch. the barrels were not really not but pretty warm. after shooting my .204 and a couple .243'si run two wet patches ...

26 grain barnes w/imr 4166--200 yd 1/2" groups

while at the gun range a few days ago another shooter told me that his friend was shooting a .204 Ruger using 26 grain barnes bullets and loading IMR-4166 powder. he said he was loading cases completely full and with that was shooting 1/2" groups at 200 yards--I was of course a little skeptical...

Re: Pb blocker

go to Pbblocker.com and you can buy it on line from them. this is a little different than they use on the oil rig. i ordered a container but have not received it yet, i don't think the bottle is very big. my cost was about $11.00 plus shipping.
