Sounds like you are making good progress with those loads and powder used. The mention of less than 1" at both 100 and 200 yrds is less tha 1 MOA, so that is showing good results and especially if they continue to group as such. Keep us posted on further results and maybe a photo or two of rifl...

I hope that Sierra does put the new 36 grain bullet out as a component. Would like to see how it works compared to the present 32 and 39 grain ones. But at the same time I wonder if there will be a noticeable difference in it compared to the present two. Only a load testing/ladder style will tell. :)

Now by many in todays society and shooting, those old stock 30-06 rifles just can not do that type of shooting. You need the new custom, wiz bang supper dupper long range tactical rifles.

Matter not to me which way the majority vote. I just thought since it was originally a 204R site, centerfire was in order. I don't mind RF, heck I might use my 17 HMR then, it is super accurate out to 150 yrds.

I vote for 224 and smaller and centerfire.

Along the same lines as Rick mentions. I feel we should keep small caliber, on this site for the shoot anyway, at .224 on down, which could be 12, 14, 17, 20 and .224 . But again, I will go with what you Skipper deem it, after you confer/read what the majority of those responding say. It will be fun...

I must add, that I am not putting Ruger down. I have and do like Ruger products. But I still like the after market products that are more available to some other brands at this time. Skipper, one question I have. You mention in your last post ( Any caliber will do) Are we not trying to stay in the smaller one's i.e. 224 and smaller ? Or does it mean any caliber even into the larger one's i.e. any above 224 ? I would like to see it stay at least 224 and smaller. But your choice a...

My main reason is that you have more choices for a pre-fit barrel for the Savage action, if and when you want to obtain a new or different cartridge to put on it. That way you have a DIY avenue to play with, down the road.

In some areas they will start showing in Feb/March depending on weather and temps. Right now my area is still cold, wet and even snow covered so it may well be into late March before I see any poking their heads out. But I am ready to see some.

You might even check the Savage Axis in 204 R. You would be surprised how well it shoots, for a rifle around $500.00 , but if you want to stick to those two, then I would say go with the savage 110.
