Re: SUCCESS! .204 ruger on a deer. [pictures]

I have said this more than once in my lifetime and the .243 caliber is the smallest I would ever use or suggest to someone as a proper deer caliber. My wife used her model 70 Winchester (coyote rifle) featherweight in .243 to kill whitetail deer after have her surgery one year. I myself like my leve...

Re: new gun

GTO-Hunter, I had a lot of success with the 527 CZ rifle I had but I got rid of it when brass and ammo got hard to get for the .222 Reminton. I sure shot great with factory Hornady ammo (under.500-MOA) at 100 yds off the bench rain or shine. Those folks I know who have CZ rifles sure like them a lot...

Re: Need a scope for Savage 12FV in 204 Ruger

Sharptailhunter.......I outfittered two of my new Savage model 12 rifles with Bushnell Tactical 3200 series scopes in the 5 X 15 power, with adj AO, mil-dot recticles and turrets. The wife uses Leupold in the 4 x 12 power with adj AO only! on her Savage .204 model 12 stainless with fluted barrel. Th...

Re: new gun

I too will give Savage a vote in the cheaper price section! They are accurate right out of the box and Bushnell 3200 series scopes are on sale $100 dollars off of the regular price at Cabela's. 4 x 12 with AO is running $219.oo dollars.

Re: 2010 deer

Cracker nice looking buck and great looking hunting rifle! Once a hunter takes big game with that .338 caliber it is very hard to lay off it come the fall hunting season. I love that .338 caliber I do!!! I have several rifles in the form of the .338-06, .338-Win mag and .338/300 Ultra mag. The wife ...

Re: Which .204 to buy...CZ-USA or Savage?

Well we have both CZ rifles and Savage rifles for varmint/predator hunting and I can tell you they both shoot very accurately right out to the box with factory ammo! I myself do not like the CZ set trigger but that is just me, I also don't care for the safety being backwards as opposed to my other h...

Re: Do you think a 22 rimfire is a handicap with a good shoo

I all boils down to what type of critter your trying to exterminate! I don't have any rats around me but do have my fare share of foxes, coons, oposums etc. Now for me the .22mag is the caliber of choice and it has been a good one for the last couple of decades. The ferrel cats and coyotes get a tas...

Re: savage 93btvs

Well I spent several months with a Savage in .17-HMR but ended up trading it off for something that would put down the critters around the place. The .22mag in the Savage 93 with heavy barrel does the job, especially now that Federal has come out with a 50-grain bullet for the .22mag.

Re: Kimber Carry .45 Dressed for the Prom

Rick now those grips really add a lot of class to an already great looking pistol! It's hard to beat a Kimber in a 1911, just my humble opinion. ;)
Love that wood I truely do.... :D

Re: Lil Excited.......

Gentlemen all I can say is the 6mm or .243 makes for one heck of a predator rifle! I got my very first 6mm way back in 1970, a 700 BDL Remington with bull barrel and mounted a 6 x 18 Unertile scope on top. It took me several weeks to work up accurate loads for it but I did manage to do so using Sier...

It is a much better pistol for CCW than it's semi-auto cousin, that will bank your trigger finger everytime you fire is fast! We had two of them and traded them in that week for Sigs.

I sure would like to be able to find one around me for sale! I have been looking but what I have seen had been used hard and put away wet you might say. I am still looking as matter of fact.

Re: 10 mm

Mike the very first time I shot a 10mm I was not to impressed with the pistol, a Smith & Wesson model. The loads were handloads in the 200 grain variety. The gun recoiled to much for my liking to be honest. Then several years later, I tried a 10mm at the range and it put a smile on my face that ...
