Re: 2019 Five-N-Dime Competition News
Don't let us Ca. folks dominate the pack! With all of our crazy gun laws it hard to believe we have the most participants! Randy.

Re: RCBS Chargemaster
I bought the Chargemaster Light a year ago January and love it. Last week while loading some rounds it started acting up. It would dispense the majority of the powder but when it slowed to trickle the remaining charge it would lock up. I couldn't manually trickle it either. I shut it down and tried ...

Re: Who Said Squirrels Can't Fly?
Great photos! I'm hoping to get up to Lassen Co. here in N.Cal. later this week to see if it's dry enough to get out into some fields. Anxious to see how all this neck turning, bullet weighing and sorting pays off. Randy.

I believe I'm in and hope to do better than I did the last 2 years. Hope it quits raining and wind dies down first! Randy.

Re: it just keeps raining
I feel your pain! Was up in Lassen/Modoc counties last week and everything is flooded. The farmers don't want anyone out in their fields because of the mud-can't blame them though. Randy.

Re: Hornady neck sizing die returned
Thanks, I learned something today. I wasn't aware of the trick to leave the lock nut loose. As a retired aircraft mechanic I was always taught if it's loose, tighten it. Randy.

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
Sidebar: My wife likes asking me how much gear, and how much money it takes to kill a silly squirrel. Girls.....they just don't get it!
I get the same thing-especially about how much did the fish I caught really cost? Boats and guns=boy toys and they're all expensive. Randy.

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
Gee, thanks guys. With friends like this who needs a spouse? LOL! Seriously though, I've never received any bad advice from this forum-maybe some that I don't agree with but not just bad advice. I hope Jim, the OP got the answers he was looking for-I'm pretty sure I got what I was looking for, the e...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
Sorry if it seems I've hijacked this thread but maybe one more question to help me figure this out. It seems there are two different sets of tooling for measuring case necks. One ( ball micrometer/case neck thickness gauge) measures the thickness of the case neck. The other measures the concentricit...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
Thanks Rick! After reading a lot of the reviews and even though they are just down the road a bit, I doubt I'll be getting the RCBS unit. All of my reloading equip. is "green" and I do like to stay brand loyal to companies with great customer service but probably not in this case. One thin...

Re: 20 vartarg
I put a modified mag. well in my 700 so I could use it as a repeater but I've only shot it as a single shot. My gunsmith had a mag. well with a spacer in it so I could load the short .20VT in it. I should've saved the money like Bill and Varmint Shooter advised me to. They were both great in helping...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
I'm getting ready to convert a bunch of .223 brass to .20VT and will be getting into case neck turning myself. I've seen it done and once the right tools are in place and set up it doesn't look too bad. I spent most of yesterday watching youtube videos and checking out the different types of tooling...

Bill-that's a lot of snow and my reloading table looks a lot like RIO's. Thanks for posting the photos so we have something to look forward to. R!

Re: 2019 5 Shot Challenge Preparation Topics
I shoot off a concrete table at the local public range (when it isn't flooded). Typically, I use a bipod on the front and stack up recycled shot bags filled with beans for the rear rest although I may change to rice filled pretty soon. I settle in to the rifle with just my left hand (lefty here)touc...
