Re: Twist?
Light weight (normally shorter) bullets will usually work well in slower twist barrels, while heavier (normally longer) bullets usually require a faster twist rate... Some .204 barrels can be a finicky as high school girls about the bullets they will tolerate...I have two .204s (1/12 twists) that do...

Re: Bummed out....
Before you send it back..... You might try spinning the turrets slowly in each direction, to almost the limits and then resetting them to Zero with a mirror....Sometimes when a scope is produced at the factory, the erectors lock in position and need to be 'broken loose' before they will track as the...

Re: How long is to long to the lands.
Historically, it seems that the .204 can live quite well with a long jump to the lands...I shoot both bolt action and AR in the caliber and while my AR has a custom cut chamber that uses a .035" jump as the most accurate with the 39gr Sierra BK bullet, my CZ 227 has a longer chamber (2.020"...

Re: which powder
I guess I'm destined to the be the 'different' one....I started using Win-748 for my .223s a long time ago and when I got my first .204, started using it for them as well (did I mention that I'm 'cheap'??) Over the years, I've also tried Ramshot's X-Terminator and TAC, but still get my best accuracy...

Re: C.O.L. for the CZ 527 Varmint .204
I think you really need to get a Comparator from Hornady and make your measurements off of the Ogive, rather than the bullet tip... Using the Comparator to measure the chamber length, my CZ 527 Varmint has a chamber length of 2.070".... My most accurate loads, using a 39gr SBK bullet with 26.3g...

Re: .223 in a .204...???
I would also be putting some kind of flag on your .223 ammo...Since both cartridges have the same diameter at the web and only .0057" difference width at the shoulder, the basic difference is in the length of the .204 of being .1005" longer....According to the SAAMI specs... I'm surprised ...

Re: Sierra Blitzking Questions
If you plan on buying "Factory Seconds" at the Sierra plant, it's worth a call ahead to insure that they have a supply of what you want... I get most of my bullets there...This was my last purchase about 2 months ago..It's four pounds of 39gr and will keep me supplied for the rest of the W...

Re: CZ 527 American
JLJ223, I picked up a CZ 527 Varmint last Fall and found that mine really likes the 35gr Berger with 26.1gr of Ramshot's X-Terminator.... Mine is set up with a Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5x scope that's pretty decent and should work well for Prairie Dogs, if gas prices don't get to high to make the trip t...

Re: problems reloading with once fired brass
ShotgunRed50, I load for four ARs, one of which is a .204 and have never considered a small base die... When a problem that you are describing happens, it due to the FL sizing die not being correctly adjusted....Turn your die down 1/8 turn each time until the case seats easily in the chamber.... Whe...

I have a Rem 700 SPS Tactical (.223) with a HS stock and would be hard pressed to let it go for the prices being mentioned....

Re: what's your favorite 204 coyote bullet?
From everything I've read, there are more DRTs with the 35gr Bergers than the 39gr or 40gr ballistic tips.... both seem to produce a higher degree of 'splash' shots if a bone is struck by accident...I use the 35gr in my CZ Varmint .204 for just that reason...

Re: Optimal twist rate for 40 gr. bullets?
My AR has a custom cut chamber, to reduce the jump to the lands, with a 1/12 twist and it shoots the 39gr and 40gr bullets very well... When I tried the 45gr Hornady rounds, the group opened up a little, but not too much for Predator hunting... but too much for shooting Varmints as longer distances...
Re: 10 mm
If you are having problems with the distance your Delta throws the empty cases, change the recoil spring to one that is a couple of pounds heavier and it will cure your problem...and it generally softens the recoil... I have a couple of different weight springs that are applied to the ammo I'm shoot...

Re: Seating Depth Help
I don't have the same rifle, but I seat my bullets for function and accuracy....Both my AR and CZ restrict my cartridge length to the magazine for feeding...I usually will seat my bullets a few thousandths below my magazine length and then tweak them for accuracy.... As stated above, most factory ch...
