Re: Slow Around here
I shoot more paper than anything else since pdogs are 1500 miles from me, I want to go but the Covid stuff concerns me. I feel more comfy in known surroundings and territory, so I hope it's all over soon. Or least at a manageable level to where I feel more comfortable with travel. I have been partic...

Re: Still slow here
Still HOT & MUGGY here, low to mid 90's with 50% humidity. Get your chores done early and hide out in the "cave" is the normal routine around here.

Re: Suppressors
I have a 204R and 20P, with my Harvester 300, both sound and feel (recoil) like a mouse fart. I've shot the 20P with a buddy's 22 cal DIY suppressor and my Harvester, very little difference in the felt recoil, mine is a just a bit quieter.

Re: Annealing question!
I have used what I call a "spinner" to anneal cases with 2 torches, one on each side. I did the DIY version first and then upgraded to the actual set up from here: https://cartridgeanneal.com/ You tube will show you how to make one for $25 or so. The torch tips and such are probably the mo...

Re: Nosler 40 gr Ballistic tips
I've had good results following the Nosler load data, aka accurate loads, so which is a higher priority for you?? Speed or accuracy??

Re: Federal 205 Primers Safe to Use?
Just start with a low/suggested starting powder charge with those primers, then start increasing the powder charge and inspect the primers for any issues. Google ladder test and you'll see how to find the right powder charge weight for your rifle in fewer shots fired. If you have difficulty in openi...

Re: New stock
I was able to find some Savage BVSS stocks for sale on other forums and the FV12 fits like a glove into them. Very stable for bench work, helps with the balance a bit, but still muzzle heavy IMO.

Re: 6x45mm twist rate
I did a 10 twist which shoots the 58g up to 75g very well. I have not done a lot load development with the "heavy" ones yet, but loves the 58g vmax.

Re: press lubrication
I've tried 3n1 oil, silicone and other types of lube sprays, all work well but you still need to clean/lube on a regular basis IMO. I have a mid 80's vintage LEE single stage that I deprime on and it gets pretty dirty from that function, so it gets cleaned/lubed more often than the other LEE single ...

Re: Opinion on first .204.
Just make sure whatever brand you get it has a heavy/bull barrel on it unless you want issues associated with skinny barrels. IF it's gonna be a carry gun out in the field, I've read good things about the RAR Predator models but no 1st hand experience. If it's a gun for the bench, I've got a Cabelas...

Re: 204 build complete
Congrats.
I've got a x caliber barrel in 20P on a R783 action, shoots in the .2 -.4 range with 32gr tipped and RL7 if I do my part.

Re: bullets tumble?
You could try a different brand of 32g bullets, or go up to the 34g dogtown HP's, they shoot well in my Savage FV12 204R.
