Re: *Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge

Thanks Skipper! Guess I better get to shooting so I can try to beat Bill K's target from the last Five shot challenge. Probably not happening though! R!

Re: five on a Dime shoot ??

I returned a target for the first 2 events and would love to give it a go again. Count me in! I'm pretty sure I can get my B.IL.to enter as well. He just put a .204 together last year but hasn't shot it much due to lack of reloading supplies-and I'm not sharing what little I have either! Randy.

Re: What trigger for an AR?

Thanks BackStabber for the link to RRA triggers. I'm trying to sway him towards the 2 stage trigger as I really like my Geissele G2S. He's shot it a few times but not totally convinced yet. R!

What trigger for an AR?

My brother in law just finished building his AR with a 24" bull barrel in .204. It's an ugly thing due to it having all the Ca. compliant stuff on it but I won't go down that road just now. We took it out last weekend to see if actually worked and to sight in the scope. Four shots later we were...

Re: 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon

My 204 likes 29.5 gr. of CFE223 with the Noslers. Every gun likes something different so I start with a mid range load and work up from there. My .257 Roberts likes the lower powder range but not the mid or upper.

Re: New 204 Ruger Build

The requirements for an AR can be frustrating while trying to find parts and as we all know, have nothing to do with what happens when some nut case goes off the deep end. For me, the biggest PITA here in CA is the lead free requirements. No condors here in Northern Ca.

Re: New 204 Ruger Build

There are at least 6 'evil' features. -folding stock-adjustable stock -adjustable stock -flash hider -forward pistol grip -rear grip gets complicated-it has to do with the web of your thumb and the position of the trigger. Most compliant stocks have a blade to prevent you from wrapping your thumb ar...

Re: New 204 Ruger Build

That's a beauty! Wish we could build these without all the Ca. evil features! Although my .204 on an AR platform is compliant it shoots great! R!

Re: Resized fired cases don't fit back into my 204's

My guess is it's the case shoulder not being bumped back enough. Had that trouble with the .20 VT brass I made from .223 brass. Even though my sizer die was set up right, I was getting a little spring-back on some of the brass. I had to run each piece of brass through the rifle to see if it would ch...

Re: Had an excuse to go this time

I was there and can verify Bill's chuck kill. He gets around rocks pretty good and he let me take a shot off the hood of his Cherokee-I missed though! Thanks Bill for a great day. Randy.

Re: 204 Barrel -AR

My .204 AR also has a Shilen barrel but they may be a little over $300 now. Mine's about 4 years old and I've probably put 7-8 hundred rounds down the barrel. I used an Anderson upper that I built and didn't have to do anything with the barrel nut. Randy.
