I have a 9 twist Shilen on my ar. I load a 40 grainer in the top of the mag and 50 grainers below Miss witht he 40 the 50s carry well. Last dog with a 50 grainer was 296 yards on a run droped him in his tracks!

The right gun in my opinion is half the battle. The right holster and carry tactic gets expensive to find as well. I have carried my Kimber Custom full size 1911. For my taste it is a bit much to carry! I love the gun it is accurate and sweet. I have a walther PK 380 that I currently carry the most....

Nice gun you will not regret buying a Kimber. I have a custom2 and love it. I am just getting into reloading my handgun calibers. Scored a new progressive press today and dies. Components are tough right now. Time will make it better, I hope?

Awsome video only way it could be better is shooting 26 G Varmit grenades! I have never laghed so hard a when shooting a midwest ground squirrle with a v grenade! I shoot a 24 inch 1 in 9 twist shilen. This barrel shoots everything up to 50 grainers excellent. Shoots 40 grain bergers ,40 grain Vmax and 50 grain bergers to same poi. It even groups 26 grain v grenades tight. Defys logic i know But I say 204 Go with a fast twist and shoot them all!

For hunting purposes I have never weighed a piece of brass. My guns group plenty well without it. Now if one wanted to be competitive in bench rest competition today? Now that is a different story. Savage, you mentioned nikon. I have had excellent results with them. I just picked up a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 on midway. Mill dot recticle and side focus. four inch sun shade and target turrets included. 275.00 marked down 120.00 I beleive. I havent had a chance to zero due to crappy weather, but...

Nice job I am sure you will be pleased. Shilen barrels shoot extreamly well. I am currently machining a shilen 1-8 twist barrel blank for one on my 700 actions. Your hooked now, I know i am i was out loking at mills today! I might have found the right one?

I too was recomended to not use my own hand loads for concelled carry in my class. Lawyer are blood suckers and every bullet has ten lawyers attached to it! I am starting to hanload for target shooting .

Joe thanks for the post. I will keep in mind if I ever acuire my 6.5 grendal barrel. I contacted shilen they said 3 to 5 month wait time. Right now it is lookin like my best optionfor my second ar project. Alexander arms stoped selling barrels only with the recent onslaught of orders. :wall:
