Re: Monthly Shootout: September 2017!!!

Looks like we've had some good entries. I've been busy with some family stuff - as my Mother-in-law received- some bad news here not too long ago.

I'll tally up and post the score. Deadline to shoot has passed. Deadline to post target is midnight on Tuesday, October 3rd.

Thanks! I think there was plenty of interest. We'll see when the posts and targets start getting posted online. :)

Cheers!

Re: Monthly Shootout: September 2017!!!

So we can just shoot a target, say one with 204R at 100-200 yds and one with a rimfire 25-50 yrds and show a photo, on site, with a measurement and info of set-up and we are entered each month, is that correct ? Bill K Correct. Just follow the guidelines in the first post. You can shoot one target ...

Monthly Shootout: September 2017!!!

OK! Here we go. The other thread indicated that there was more than enough interest from our members to have a totally fun shootout. This is the first one, and am sure we'll learn as we go along. FIRST RULE: NO RULES! - yeah, this is totally fun. And let us keep it that way. No prizes. No trophies -...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

OK folks. I'll state this again. This thread has nothing to do with The 2017, 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge . That thread is here ->CLICK HERE: https://204ruger.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11813 Please read the rules and follow up there. This thread was started with the intention of discussing a fun...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

One detail to consider is to always scan the targets using the same scanner so that each has the same dimensions as the next. Two different scanners could yield two different dimensions/proportions/aspects. Then import them into On Target for measuring. Just saying. I use OnTarget. There is a "...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

Most of the time I just take a red target dot ( one inch model) and stick it on a sheet of paper. Makes for a tight hold and you can see your hits, most of the time from 100 yrds, with a 12x scope. If you check around those stick on dots sell for 10.00 bucks or so, for hundreds of them. Reasonable ...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

If it's just the 'tightest group' wins then the target style or picture shouldn't matter. If you can take a photograph with a ruler or calipers to show the size of group then job done? A black dot drawn on a blank paper then adjust your turret 2-3 clicks so you don't lose your point of aim then tak...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

I haven't read all the posts, but the few I saw had some nice input. For my part, here are a few thoughts: 100 yards only. Perhaps use some standard NRA target. That would allow people with printers to print it and people without printers to just order some already printed. (Another online contest ...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

Ugh. I shot 4 and got a fairly tight group. The last one, of course, was a flyer. OnTarget says my group is about 0.4 moa. Good enough? Probably not.

Shall I send in skipper? or skip..

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

For a while posting pictures was frustrating, but Tarrin fixed that problem with attachments. So, then I was going to announce that the top three shooters would get a custom Winners Icon for their signature line. We have done that in the past. Now, I'm of the mind to hold off it we are going to do ...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

The only problem with that is, some like me, do not have a printer. I would gladly aid in postage and go with the mail, if that is what it would take. Or just use my own target, as mentioned, and post a photo and/or results. It is on the honor system and hopefully all would be honest. Bill K You ca...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

How are folks doing? I was just glad to be able to get out and shoot. I haven't been shooting for about 6 months and this weekend would be my last chance until September. It poured Saturday, but Sunday I was able to get out with our boy Matt who is down visiting from Iowa with his wife Julie. I don...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

Only question I have is, if I want to not only report the group size, but also post a photo of the target and rifle/set up, can I send someone ( say JaxTeller) such via email and it be posted. Reason I ask is I am PC illiterate and unable to post photos. Bill K Maybe I will not have to do this. I b...
