Re: 34gr cheapies!

Dose anyone have the OAL of these bullets? I would like to run them through Quick Load first but Nosler-Midway_Midsouth hides the length. As Nosler make them by the boxcar load there is most likely a lot of variation. Thanks measured 15 of them. longest 2 were .550, 2 were .549, 9 were .547, and 2 ...

I will get mine in the mail before Friday, not my best group of the day/week/month but it is what it is. Always next year

Re: 34gr cheapies!

It's not "dirty" in the sense of ashy fouling, and no you wouldn't see it anywhere nearly as quick as in the 204. You can call Sierra and ask about it, smaller bores accumulate it very quickly. My accurate load is a light charge of CFE. M.O.P.E. That's minute of Pigeon eye. :D Mine prefer...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

I feel like a pup here at 64. Oh and Shilohman check the scope rings and mounts. I had that problem a couple of range trips ago, took me about 3 groups before I figured out I had one loose screw and then even at that did not make sure the pins were not firmly forward against the rail post so I waste...

Re: 34gr cheapies!

Never noticed Varget being a dirty powder. I on am on my third 8 pound jug, it is pretty much all I shoot through my various 308s. I find RL 10X the dirtiest powder I shoot and hardest to clean up after. However my .204 loves it with 39 grain SBKs, so I just run a few extra patches through On the 34...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

50 yards is more like rimfire range but if that is what is decided then so be it. I myself like 5 shot groups at 100 at a minimum. I realize some do not have access to shoot 200 - 300 yards On the target why not just decide on a downloadable target and everyone down load and shoot the same target . ...

Re: 34gr cheapies!

For me these shot ok but not great with TAC, Varget, and RL10X . In my barrel they seem to do the best with H4895 running close to the top of the load chart

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

as far as scope magnification most of here are running some sort of adjustable. I would not object to limiting my zoom to even the playing field. It would have to be on peoples word of honor. In the end it is all going to boil down to the shooters skills more than scope magnification. A pulled shot ...

Re: Powders with low ES and SD

if ignition were the only issue then we could all just use magnum primers. Are you guys confusing SD with the powders temperature sensitivity ? Those are different issues altogether. Never heard of SD being a powder issue until this thread, can anyone source that ?
