Re: Why aren't my woodchucks exploding?

I bought a 204 Ruger in a Kimber 84M late summer of 2011, I am working up loads for accuracy & expect to shoot some Sage Rats (Miriams Ground Squirrels), Prairie Dogs & Rock Chucks this year. I thus far have found Winchester 34GR factory loads to be very accurate & deadly. Hornady 32GR f...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Accuracy fix

Another suggestion, Buy some barrel lapping compoung & lap the barrel. I did this years ago on a 17Remington & it came in beautifully. I did not use the PLUG method but rather a good cleaning jag with as many patches as it took to make a very tight fit with lapping compound on the patch. I d...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Accuracy fix

If you or anyone is interested in bedding a rifle action / stock I would suggest you use "EPOXY STEEL". Many years ago my Gunsmith friend advised me to use epoxy steel instead of "Brownells Glass Bedding". He said it was thicker & easier to work with. He also said it was extr...

Re: Do you think a 22 rimfire is a handicap with a good shoo

I'm 66 now, I have been shooting 22LR for 50+ years. I started out shooting a Sheridan 5MM pellet rifle I received for Christmas when I was 12. It was wickedly accurate as the birds, I was required to keep out of the garden, found out. My targets were thumbtacks on a section of plywood. I seldom mis...

Re: WTB: Small Wood Lathe

I have a old metal lathe that is ran by a seperate electric motor by way of a belt drive. It could be used on wood as well. I have it at my other home & will need to get it out of storage there. I would be willing to sell it if you don't find anything. My e-mail address is [ jerry.ballew@yahoo.c...

Re: New 221 Fireball

If you intend to use it for up to deer size game, use a Sierra 52gr BTHP MATCH bullet. I shot my first deer with one of these in a 222 Remington & took it with one shot. The match bullet has a thicker jacket and is very accurate & works on larger game where a thin varmint bullet will shred b...

Re: Old Style Buffalo Hunt!

Hey TONK, I took my first & only Bison hunt and shot a 3 year old bull with my 17 Remington centerfire I have had for years. I used a 25gr Burger Moly coated bullet & dropped it like a ton of bricks. 2 friends with me were amazed the buffalo dropped like it's legs were cut off. I also have s...

Re: 1-14-2012 hunt with CRTs bullets

I am working up loads for my KIMBER 84M 204 Ruger I recently purchased. I just had 2 Coyotes pass withing 30 yards of my dining room window. Hope to get a chance to dispatch them soon. I have had great success with my 17 Remington with 25gr Burger bullets - I dropped am American Bison with one shot ...
