Re: BR Pivot at Midway

Mike: You could check out Craig's List, as a friend purchased one there, also you may want to post a "want to buy" on GGVG Classifieds to see if one pops up, and maybe even over at Saubier.com, as there are a few guys using them there that haunt that site. As for Skippy.....he's never too...

Re: BR Pivot at Midway

Mike: I just got an update from Battenfield/Caldwell on the BR Pivot. The benches are due into their warehouse on or about 21 April, so they should be available soon thereafter. One of the first benches out the door will be shipped to me, so I should have something to offer in early May. I've got a...

Re: Barrel Quality????

Dave: Glad to hear the No.1 is back home with dad. Once you work up some handloads and range test it, be sure to let us know how she performed. I had my No.1V (.223 Rem) out for four days last week in the field, and while I was at the bench with her, wondered how yours was doing. Once you've got th...

Re: Tikka T3 204 ?

Right up front I'll say I do not own a Tikka. However, I'm a real Sako fan, and own a few of those. That said, last year I was varmint shooting ground squirrels with an Oregon guide who bought some of my benches for use by his varmint shooting clients. He had with him a Tikka Varmint in .223 Remingt...

MD601: Mark - Seaforth Highlander's Crest....w/stag...yes, that's the one. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g66/packrat1/SeaforthCrest.jpg Besides being worn during the war by my grandad, it goes with me everywhere to this day on my "don't shoot me" red bandanna on my huntin' hat. I'm al...

Re: new to reloading the 204 question

Welcome to the forum h10doc . For starters, you may want to browse the top black bars of the forum screen, the one titled ".204 Load Data" to see some of the combinations that have worked for members. As you only plan to use Hornady bullets, and are new to reloading, I trust you have the H...

SF: Excellent in all regards! I always feel like I'm behind the rifle in your stories, and look forward to your reports. Great photos and graphics too....do I detect a book or magazine article in your future? ;)

Re: Man 8, Gopher 1 - Canadian's need our help!

Rick: Myself, and I'm sure that most of us down here wish you guys the very best of fortune in the next election. But we all know how hard it is to overturn stupid laws on the books, especially gun laws. We're saddled with rediculous gun laws here that even our brethern in the UK don't even have! T...

Captqc: Shhhhh....not everyone remembers just exactly who owns a MK-III Hunter w/red dot! And hey.....what's a few yards among friends anyway? Now if one of these rabid squirrels tosses a grenade, will you still save me by throwing yourself on it? Next week baby....we deploy! :party1:

Re: Early Season Fun w/Skippy (Pics)

Too funny!! You da man Waldo! It's true, we were fighting "Insurgent Squirrels" with an attitude. Here's how most of them were typically armed..... http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g66/packrat1/M240rat-1.jpg I noticed a bullet hole in that helmet too.....that must have been from a ...

Re: Early Season Fun w/Skippy (Pics)

Waldo: I gotta be honest here......this particular rat was just on the other side of the fence, behind from where we were shooting, in a bull pen of sorts. He'd been lying there for most of the morning, not moving. I figure we probably ran him over with the rig, and in the soft earth, he just got &...

Re: New Loads with Coated Bullets.....

Vartarg: I've gone to WS2 coated bullets in all my high volume colony rodent varmint rifles, and in my Sako 204, I use RL10X under both the 32 and 39 SBK's. Using the same load as uncoated bullets, velocity dropped off by 60 fps, but the accuracy is still there, so I have not bumped the load back u...

Re: 17 Fireball Reloading?

I agree that Remington really blew it with not having brass available for a new cartridge of their own, and factory ammo is priced rediculously to boot. In the meantime, you can always form 17FB brass from 221FB brass, and just use the 17FB F/L die to do it, but you'll most likely have to turn the n...
