I have a savage model 12 with a 26 in. bbl. for my .204 I use 35 gr. bergers with cfe-223--30.6 grains--3990 fps--rem 7 1/2 primers and 2.250 " col. groups less than .2 inches are common at l00 yards

my browning likes varget 35.5 grains, 55 grain vmax. this is consistently shooting less than l/2" sometimes a lot less.

6.5 rem primers are made for the .22 hornet and are quite soft. change to 7.5 rem. primers and problem solved.

i have 2-.204's. one a ruger light weight bbl and the other a savage model 12 with a heavy bbl and a nikon 4-16 monarch. using 30.5 grains of cfe-223 i get no copper in the barrel and with 35 grain bergers i can easily get 5 rounds inside 3/8"s at 100 yards sometimes a lot better. i get awsome ...

I usually use the Lee system for case trimming but as you know they don't make the tool for the .204 Ruger. I purchased the Redding trim die w/ extended shell holder. Works great but does take longer....Amazes me that the steel in the die is hard enough to withstand filing. Does anyone make a "...

Picked up a used savage 12 FV-S a couple weeks ago, out of the box 39 grain SBK an RL 10-X 5 shot under 1/2" at 100 yards. I didnt think I was capable of shooting that, Had been working on my Remmy 700 SPS in 204, best so far 1 1/2" at 100 yards, its a work in progress. Little frustrating...

for my savage mod. 12 i have been looking for a good load and read of a shooter using re-10x using 32 gr. nosler bullets. i tried 26 gr. of re-10x, 26.2 grains and 26.4 grains and with that last one i got a very small 3 leaf clover that measured .185" but had a 1" flyer. this was on a wind...
