Re: Gun Cleaning ar 204 and others a TIP
Jim I use a good copper cleaning solvent in my factory barrel if shooting allot of jacketed bullets. In my Shilen stainless 204 barrel copper fouling hasnt been a issue. Saw some lite copper fouling during barrel break in but shoots clean since.

Re: IM A Beleiver
Chris I do not have a chrono. so I cant answer your question. I hope to have one bye spring. I currently halted my load workup as it is so cold testing and I can shoot inside a dime now. I will do tenth grain load increments and test when weather gets warm. Hopefully I will have a chrono bye then. A...

Re: .204 muzzle jump
Turtle , I have went to a 12 x max Nikon. I was coyote hunting with a rem 700 22-250 and Leupold 6.5x20x50mm awsome optic, but way to much to get on target of running or called coyote. Seldom used it above 12 x unless taking a 6 to 700 yrd. Wing and prayer shot. So far I love the 4x12 Mil Dot Nikon .

Nice group , I have win 748 as I started with it loading my 308 It is interesting how various burn rate powders group. Even some I would not think would. I am going to try some 748 load workups when the sping warmth hits. As of now I am seeing same hole groups with 10 x, But perhaps 748 could be mor...

Re: .204 muzzle jump
What Muzzle Jump? 32 G kills at 500 yrds would take allot of skill or luck. I tested 40 grainers today at 400 with ten MPH cross wind. Bullet drop at 400 was around 14 inches and wind drift was about the same. This was a 40 hornady vmax. I dont have a chrono but load data sujest 3750 fps.On a coyote...

Re: new 20 cal lead free bullets
I have loaded the Barnes 26 Varmit Grenade. They are lead free and developed for the military to prevent ricachet. They shoot very well in mt 1 in 9 twist shilen barrel. In the 3s. Read Read Read, and keep it safe. If you know someone who practices safe reloading I sugest try and get them to show yo...

Re: hi guys new member needing some info on the 204.
Wish I had a crono. I am liking the grouping with 10x and IMR 4895. I just drove over a hundred miles last weekend to get two pounds of powder I found. I couldnt get imr 4895 anywhere. For gads sake this powder originated in the cival war!

But i would start low and be carefull pressure comes up fast with hotter powder and heavyer bullets. This i...

Re: Whats your Work Up Method
I use win cases, cci 450 mag primers, because I inherited thousands! I started with IMR 4895 powder because I have it and there is a abundance of load data for it. Best advice I can give is keep it safe! I then took some advice of a local shop that favors the 20 cal rounds two. He was having incredb...
