Re: Finally got my deer head done

That's a nice looking deer! I hear you guys about mounts in the house. Mine have red lights in their antlers for Valentines Day, green lights at St. Patricks Day, orange at Halloween, red, white and blue for the 4th of July, multi-colored at Christmas and plain white the rest of the year. Oh well, a...

Last season

I haven't been on here much this summer, seems like there was always something that needed done and just haven't been on the computer that much. Clint and I were talking the other day about it being time to start coyote hunting with the cooler weather we have been having lately and also a few crops ...

Re: ND PD Hunt on 9-6-2011--photos

Silverfox,
Thanks for taking us along with you on your shoot. After seeing the pictures of all those dead dogs, PETA will be wanting a picture of you as their poster child!

Re: Kids did some shooting...

Jason, I'm glad you brought them down to shoot. They'll remember this for a long time. Like others have said, they will grow up too fast so enjoy every minute you can with them. Just remember, life doesn't come equipped with reverse. How do you think Berlynn would look shooting a pink rifle? I'm loo...

Nebraska 2011 trip

I’m late getting our Neb. Trip posted, but it has been a very busy summer around here. Back on May 26th, Clint, Lucas and I headed for Nebraska to meet up with our friend Dave to shoot some prairie dogs. Due to some work schedules, we weren’t able to leave till around 7 pm and drove through the nigh...

Re: 3/19/11 Coyote

GTO, My rifle is sighted in for dead on at 200 yards and is about 4.6" low at 300 yards so at that distance, I lay the crosshair on the coyote's back. The scope is a 4.5X14 and I usually have it turned up all the way for the long shots. I am usually sitting with my back against something solid...

3/19/11 Coyote

Last Saturday morning I went back out to the creek bottom where the dead cow was for two reasons, to see if any coyotes were coming to the cow and to listen for turkeys to see where they were roosting in preparation for next months first turkey season. This time I set up along the tree line across t...

3/12/11 coyote

I haven’t been out coyote hunting for the past two weekends so I went out yesterday morning to the creek bottom where coyotes had been feeding on a dead cow. I got out there just as it was starting to get light and sat on the same hill side where Lucas and I had shot some coyotes recently. I had got...

Re: new gun

GTOHunter, I agree with what Jim said. I shoot prairie dogs and coyotes, so if I had to pick one over the other, I would go with the varmint. I had the Varmint about two years before I bought the American and at that time, CZ's website said the Varmint was only .9 lbs. heavier than the American. Th...

Re: new gun

GTOHunter,

The American comes with rings and the Varmint doesn't. When I bought both of mine, they were close to the same price out of the box but I still had to buy rings for the Varmint.

Re: 2/12/11 coyote

GTOHunter, I really like the American. I have other rifles in .222, 22-250, .220 Swift, 6MM, .243 and up but I like hunting coyotes with the American best of all. Even my CZ 527 Varmint .204 has taken back seat to my American. It's light weight, very easy handling, totally adjustable trigger/set tr...

2/12/11 coyote

This morning I went back out to the creek bottom where Lucas made his long shot last weekend to see if anything might be visiting the dead cow. I got out there just at the first hint of light and sat in the same spot we sat last weekend. I had been there about 15-20 minutes when two coyotes came dow...

Re: Coyotes 1/29/11

Ryan S Albright, The wooden sticks in the picture are sold by Hunter's Specialty. They have their good and bad points. They are good at holding your gun while going through a gate, taking a picture, etc but if you have to move quick to stand for a shot, you have to pull them off of the barrel to sh...
