Re: .204 Shared Reloading Experience

I tried up to 28.1 grains of H4895 in both my CZ and Remington. I used Remington brass in lieu of Hornady and I was starting to see pressure signs, mainly slight bolt face marks on the cse heads so I stopped. If I were using that load I would stay around the 27.7 to 27.9 range to allow for powder th...

Good luck & hope it works out. I just sent a Nikon in myself on Wednesday for a turret/reticle adjustment issue.

Re: Nikon "Monarch" Scope

giterdone: The only down side with the Nikon I have is the turet adjustments are mushy in comparision to the others. They always tracked perfectly though. I'm still scratching by noggin' as to how a reticle went south on a 204. :?: As far as their customer service goes, I'll find out and report bac...

Re: Nikon "Monarch" Scope

Here is a article I posted yesterday on another sight. Thar discussion was regarding the Zeiss vs Leupold VX-3. When I replied I just included the results of my Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44 with target dot reticle. In a nutshell, as far as clarity and resolution the one I have is pretty good when compare...

Re: do you clean between load tests

If I'm testing different powders, yes, I clean between loads and then refoul with 5 shots, otherwise, no.

Re: Group size question==need advoce

I know I have some work to do regarding loads, ect. This has a HS precision stock, free floated and alum. bedding. I was hopeing I could get 1/2 moa at some point. Thanks Doc, Well, let’s started. I’m not one to assume very many things (gravity is an exception though) so if youâ€â„...

Re: Group size question==need advoce

Remember too, all things being equal (gun, ammo, weather and shooter) .008" of movement at the muzzle equates to 1 MOA.

It doesn't take much....

Re: Group size question==need advoce

My CZ would shoot around 1 MOA when I first got it. After free floating and bedding, the groups really shrunk down to .25 to .50 depending on load and reverified at 200 yds.

Re: Range Report - 50Bergers, 40Noslers, Chrono Data and Targets

WOW...nice write up. Wish I could provide input but I have no experience with either of these combinations. As far as disregarding flyiers, unless you know why the shot(s) were flyiers, I count them in the group size. I will retest the load if I have 4 good ones just to verify consistency and in fac...

Re: matchking 4 hunting?

Thanks guys for the info. I think I will try them until they fail me and the deer. RIO I think if the are facing north I will shoot them in the left eye and if they are facing south the right eye. the west would be the chest and well the Texas heart shot if the are facing east. Re: another SMK ?

Are you shooting these in a gas gun or bolt gun? About 42.4 gr of H4895 is about as high I'll go. Just this past Monday, I was testing Varget 44, 44.5 and 45 grs with CCI-200, Rem 91/2 Mag and WLR (nickel coating, I did the same with H4895 last week)) and the WLR primers were to flat for my taste an...

Re: Need a new rifle

The 6mm Rem or .243 aren't bad choices at all either..... I've been using the 6mm Rem since 1974 with no complaints.... Regards, Guy I've heard that the 243 is a barrel burner due to a short neck, where as a 6mm Remington isn't. Any preferences as to one over the other? I'm asking because those are...
