Re: Tell us about yourself...
Brian. Just out of curiosity what twist is your rifle ? Could it be a 1/14 by chance. I have gone to a 1/11 in all my 20's, and it just seems that works fine with 32-39 grainers. Bill K

And on mine, it is upside down. But I just saved it in my photo's, then could move it around. Good job at taking out two of those fawn/sheep/calve killers. Bill K

Re: Tell us about yourself...
Had the same thought on the 32 grain bullets. Never heard of a 204 or any 20 caliber, that did not like the 32 & 39 grain bullets. And as you, Jim, stated the 35 grain Berger. With the right powder combo, all those will usually shoot very nice groups. Wonder how many loads combinations were trie...

Re: Dies and brass
I started out with C & H dies, back in around 1954 along with a C & H C-press (still have and use it) But now also have RCBS rockchuker and RCBS Summit presses. Have, over the years added RCBS, Hornady, Lee and Whidden dies. They all work and have a place in the reloading hobby. I mostly nec...

Re: best 45 gr sp hornady load?
I have been using CFE 223 the most, it has been working for me, with both 32 & 39 grain bullets. My best loads are up near max, so you want to start with the start load and work up slowly. Safety first. Bill K

Re: best 45 gr sp hornady load?
What RIck said. You will have to consult the load data, zero in a at least three powders, with that bullet, Try a couple of primer brands with the heavier cups, one being Rem 7.5, which just seems to work well with everything in the 204R. Then load some 5 shot groups, ladder test, from start load an...

Try Bob Green, in York, PA. (google him up) HE does fine work and is closer to you for shipping, etc. Unless you have some gunsmiths in your local area. Bill K

Re: .204 40gr. Nosler BT vs Hornady 40gr vmax
I will say this, if you are not set up for, nor have time to do as I mentioned and are just shooting on a good average basis, then a person had better stick to 300 or less. If you are sighted in, with that load, for a hold of 1 to 1 1/2 inch high at 100 yards, you should get a hit on the average coy...

Re: Flat base for handguard
A set up like that would work Randy. But with your present forearm on the AR, how about a full body type bag, like the Caldwell one's ? They support the whole forearm portion of most all rifles and are very steady to work with and settle the rifles into. Bill K

Re: .204 40gr. Nosler BT vs Hornady 40gr vmax
Depends on how you are set up, to dial up your scope or how well you use the old Kentucky windage/range ?? My partner and I have our 20's set up for easy 400 and sometime plus, when we have time to range and dial on most all of our varmints, even the coyotes. But most of the time, when they are comi...

Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder
Some say it is, some say it is not. Some 1/12 twist will shoot the 40 grain very well, others, for some unk reason will only stabilize the 39 grain. Who knows why, but whatever works for you and your rifle best, then go for it. No one should be forced or unhappy trying or playing with something that...

Re: .204 40gr. Nosler BT vs Hornady 40gr vmax
000_0009.JPG Thx Bill. The .32 vmax don't come out but my buddy said the noslers did and he had way more runners...Probly just cause he shoots a savage😁😜 Don't understand the runners with the Nosler, Unless he is just not hitting them within his range and in the right spot, chest/lungs or brain. He...
