Re: Anyone shooting Kimber Super Carry Pro?

Well, slight glitch in getting a Super Carry Pro. Found one this weekend at a local gun show, and get this, at a decent price. Course the action had the slide out of battery and a zip tie installed for safety. Upon examination, the 1/2" or so of barrel showing was covered with surface rust. I p...

Anyone shooting Kimber Super Carry Pro?

I'm suffering sellers remorse after selling my Kimber Pro CDP to my buddy. He just "had" to have it after shooting it, and I've regretted it ever since. However, I've had my eye on a Super Carry Pro. I haven't been too fired up about the "bobbed grip" on some guns, but the Kimber...

Re: Not a .204, but it's going to be great!

I was late "getting on board" for a 20 VT. Rick and several others tried to talk me into the VT, but I fought the urge. Finally, got my Cooper M21 in 20 VT, and it's rapidly becoming my favorite. In spite of the winds, and having two Cooper .204's, my longest shots in SD were with the 20 V...

Re: z max

I talked with a Hornady tech several months ago.......he told me the z-max and v-max were exactly the same, except for bullet tip. They shoot the same in my guns, so I'm taking his word for it!

Re: Heads up on Hornady dies

I had a similiar experience a few years ago with Hornady and their dies. After a lot of measuring, with and without the depriming rod, the dies were "swaging" the mouths of my .204 cases way too much and splitting a lot of the cases. I was comparing the measurements with a set of Forster d...

Another annealing question.......

that I should know the answer, but... Before annealing my .204's, I adjusted my decapping die rod to knock out the primers, but not to size the case. Of course, I doubled my work by having to resize AFTER annealing. Is it o.k. to resize, anneal, and then load? Or is there a problem to annealing and ...

Re: Talk me into (out of) a 20VT

I too resisted the 20VT for quite a while. Rob Behr (then at Cooper) and Todd Kindler tried to talk me into a 20VT when I was looking for another pd gun. In my mind, it just wasn't up to par with a .204, so I bought my second Cooper in .204. After talking to Rick and others, the 20VT bug hit me agai...

Re: What range to zero my .204?

I have my pd rifles sighted in for 200 yds. I use Leupold VH reticles on two of them, and I don't twist knobs. Works for me.

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

1. Cooper
2. CZ or Savage
I have three Coopers, so you know what my vote is! Only problem, I don't know is my Cooper triggers will adjust UP to 3.5 lbs. I have mine adjusted to less than a pound.

Re: Shooting table....

I found the plans on a video. I think "Clemdog" shooting table is where you can find the video. The legs are "rugged buddy" folding sawhorse legs (mine are 34"). I ordered mine thru Amazon, but there are a lot of vendors when you search for them. I'm not very handy with tool...

Shooting table....

ready for our trip to South Dakota. I'm not fortunate enough to have one of Rick's shooting tables, so had to improvise. We're driving this year, and with limited space, I had to "make do" with this table I made. Legs are folding saw horse legs, with my top, and seems to work o.k. with my ...

Re: How Many Rifles???

I have a 5 day shoot coming up in June, also in SD. Since we're driving, I'm bringing two Cooper .204's and a Cooper 20 VT. I have about 1300 rounds loaded, hope it's enough. I still have plenty of time, I may load more!

20VT in prairie dog fields.........

Finally going to get my Cooper 20VT in the pd fields in a couple of months. For those of you with experience, how many accurate rounds are you getting before cleaning? We're driving to South Dakota this year, so I get to take all three Coopers with me. I shouldn't get the guns "too hot", b...

Don't want to be picky, but the last quote of 60-80 in lbs is NOT my quote.
