I happen to have the same rifle in 204 and it has accounted for many prarie dogs and coyotes. Shoots both factory and reloads with no issues, factories are far superior for accuracy however. Mine wears a 6x18 Burris and is usually shot off a bi-pod.

While doing what AC described, look for wear on all portions of the bolt, there may be a spot either on the bolt or the action that is not quite right causing excess friction.
