Can or would someone compare the 20 practical to the 204R in terms of recoil, powder consumption , barrel wear, etc., like you have here. I have a FV12 in 204R and like it, it's accurate and fun to shoot, etc., just thinking of a winter project since the FV12's are inexpensive base to start with. LOL.

Most 204R's are long throated, just load to recommended OAL, you can adjust a little bit but still need to keep enough bullet in the neck for adequate tension. 204's don't mine jumping at all. Might try the Sierra 39g instead of the 40g vmax, the 12 twist and 40's don't always play well together.

Well, the weather finally cooperated today for a trip to the range. Got the seating depth finalized, gonna/can finish loading up the ammo for the FV12 now, then load up some the R700.
