Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder
This powder is new to me none of my manuals has it. was told its almost identical to varget I think this is erroneous information. Varget is basically a 4064-like powder, in general terms, and my experience with 8208 is that it is _not_ a 4064-like powder overall. Please understand that powders beh...

Re: Anyone using Norma powder in their 204?
Thanks for any info you can share, Trimble! I must say I'm highly skeptical of the notion of reducing pressures since entering the American market, unless their pressures were out of control previously. I have their most-current loading manual, and they load according to CIP procedures and to full C...

Re: Ruger no.1 in 204 for SALE
I'd love some pics with the light on the wood. I can't see a thing in these. Would also like to see an example target, if you please. PM them if you prefer that over public posting.

Re: Anyone using Norma powder in their 204?
I never did get a reply from them. However, from what I've been able to find elsewhere, 204 is just too slow for the 204.

Re: Factory Hornady 204 ammo velocity
I've never seen a factory 204 rifle that would show anything remotely close to the advertised speed on the boxes of factory ammo. The 204 in particular always chronos WAAAYYY low with factory ammo. ...and with handloads if you stick to published data. The problem is much worse with the 204 than with...

Re: Hodgdon CFE 223 loads?
Yes, Darkker raves. ...uh, about CFE223, I mean!
Ive used it just a very little, too. It seems to work fine. Haven't actually tried many powders in my 204. It's at a 'smith for now, so sadly I'm not able to shoot it during the outstanding weather this time of year (I'm in southern AZ). :-/

Re: Dyna-Tek bore coat
I've Bore Coated a few rifles. It generally works like they say, shortening clean-up time and reducing required scrubbing/effort. I've had a couple Salvage barrels that were inexcusably rough, and while it may have helped them, they were still so rough they were a nightmare to clean. A Browning was ...

Re: NEW BARREL BREAK-IN ???
Congratulations on the new Cooper! I used to go into a shop in Boise quite a bit that stocked Coopers. They sure are fine rifles! :) Barre break-in is a thing that has come about because people want it. It was 'invented' by a competitor of Gale McMillan's (that according to McMillan in a years-old p...

Re: New Ruger 6mm Creedmoor rifles
Wasn't that the Ruger Precision Rifle in the video? There are some 6mm Creedmoor shooters in my rifle club (a long-range precision, aka PRS, club). It's a good cartridge. If you're not familiar, PRS-style matches are one shooter at a time, and the shooter is on a short time clock. So, you might have...
