Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

Rowdy I had one and I must say, it shot very well with Hornady factor 50 grn ammo! It would shoot 1/2 inch groups all day long from the bench. The set trigger dealt me a fit, mostly because I would not shoot it all the time and soon forget the feel is extremely light on the set trigger, about 1.25 l...

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

I favor the RUGER because it is the closest rifle to the model 70 Winchester! I am a model 70 Winchester Guy and been one for over 35 years give or take. The next pick for me would be the SAVAGE with their new trigger it is a "cat's meow" and I am not whislling Dixie either Gents. I brough...

Re: It's Gonna Happen!

Futuretrades, you and I would get along just fine in the fields hunting birds I know! I have some of the very best dynamic German Shorthair Pointers in the entire North America bare none. I really missed working the dogs and training some of the pups last year. All of our breeding stock are son's &a...

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

The CZ is a good rifle but I don't like detachable clips! Also the safety on the CZ rifles is backwards to most other rifles made. I did in fact choose the RUGER in a heavy barrel and the caliber is a 25-06 for those far down range shots on song dogs. :D

Re: It's Gonna Happen!

Thank you gentlemen! This diabetes thing, I always thought was just do the diet and all is well, NOT the case with this at all. It will attack nerves in your feet or legs and then once you have the doctors get things back under control, the friggin diabetes goes somewhere else to attack the body. I ...

Re: 10 mm

Jim White, no sir I have not to date! I have 3 model 20 Glock 10mm pistols and 1 that is a model 29 compact. I also have a full size 45 acp in the Glock too. I wasn't planning on purchasing a Gen. 4 because I have already got them shooting like I want and the new barrels make them terrific shooting ...

Re: Kimber 1911 sights front and rear ??

I purchased a Kimber Carry model around 5 years ago with fixed sights. It shot 1 inch low at 12 yards, cutting a 1.35 inch whole out of the center of the target. I never bothered about putting adjustable sights on that pistol as it was meant to carry. My target Kimber is a 2 inch gun at 25 yards off...

Re: Are newer Kimbers really that bad???

I have 3 Kimber 45acp caliber pistols, one is a target pistol with long slide in stainless steel, one is a Carry type pistol in black finish and the 3rd is a full size Kimber also. I have never had a malfuction with any of these Kimber 45's. However, when Kimber went to Bobbing a 1911 frame, then th...

Re: CC Must

Joe O, I have no prolblem with IDPA but many of us just don't have the time to run down to the gunclub (which is 45 minutes away) and then setup for shooting etc. Now for the wife and I, we shoot on our property and have our own targets set up to do so. We also practice some moves and things the IDP...

Re: 10 mm

M.D. I can only say that to modify my Glock model 20 for me to shoot is a good thing to do period! I am almost 70 years old, have arthritis in both hands and those 6 and 7 pound trigger pulls are not to my liking, as I can not pull them and stay on target. The 10mm magnum in the Glock is the best &q...

Re: Your Best/Favorite Deer Hunting Rifles?

Ok Ok, I now have a new deer rifle, groundhog rifle, antelope rifle and coyote taker, in a new custom I put together last year. I started with my model 70 Winchester in 25-06 caliber, then changed out the barrel to a 25 inch stainless. This rifle is control round feed, with 3 posssition safety. Then...

It's Gonna Happen!

Well Gents, this buffalo hunt the wife and I were going to take seems to be just out of reach for one reason or another............geez! I admit I had some health problems with diabetes and if your feet don't work, your not going anywhere soon. Well, the doc's seem to have my problem solved as far a...

Re: Scope upgrade?

I have several of the Leupold rifle scopes and they are top shelf as far as predator and varmints go! I however, saved a truckload of money last year by going the route of the Bushnell Tactical scope in the 5 x 15 power, mil-dots, Turrets and Adj AO too. The Leupold were not as bright and cost over ...

Re: 4-14x40 with mil dot for coyotes?

I use a 5 X 15 Bushnell Tactical on my predator and varmint rifles! I see no reason why your Zeiss scope would not be a golden key to taking "song dogs".
