Re: Ventures in the rat patch

Crystal clear, sunny, and quite cold at 17 degrees with some skiffs of snow. Coldness didn't seem to damper sage rat activity though.

Re: Ventures in the rat patch

Yes the excitement is taking hold. There were other shooters across from me in another field. From the sounds of it they were doing quite well also. Bill K and I ventured out Thursday also for a chuck fun. The weather was just a little to cool with a slight breeze making pickings slim. Did manage to...

Ventures in the rat patch

The weather was somewhat nicer, mostly sunny, grabbed a couple rifles and headed out. Rats were a plenty in
the area. These were taken with the 20 SCC as were many others, also with a 221 FireBall.

Re: First trip of the Year

Your right, some are out in places and not so in other areas. My first outing was Saturday and I did leave alot of
squeakers wishing they hadn't come out. Should be improving daily now with this warmer weather.

Re: twist for new Pac-nor

Go with a 1 in 11 twist. I have 2 Pac-Nor barrels with 1 in 11 twist and both are very accurate with your mentioned bullet use.

Re: Check your supply

It's good to have plenty in supply. Reloading supplies, brass, bullets, etc., are still able to be shipped to individuals here in California. talked with several suppliers this morning, only one has chosen to ship reloading supplies to a FFl Vendor after January first, and that's it's their adopted ...

Re: Acceptible .17hmr accuracy??

You might consider using a rimfire gauge. I found as much as .003 difference in rim thickness in a box, both Hornady and CCI. In my 17 HMR, Savage93, there was a slight difference in accuracy among the rim thickness. One thickness seemed to shoot a tighter group over the others. Testing was done at ...

Either one would be a good choice. I have them both and both are fine cartridges. Which ever one I
take to the field, performs as I want it to.

Post them all so everyone who shot can see how they placed against one another. This will also tell
how many entered.
