Thanks Bill. I was walking this morning, trying to get photos of the osprey above the Columbia River and stumbled across this little rascal.
No-shooting area, and I wasn't so inclined anyway. So, he's immortalized via digi-camera!

Re: Wyoming 2014
Thanks guys. It was a good hunt and I thoroughly enjoyed.
Haven't done much with the .204 Ruger the past year or two, but it's clean, lubed, and ready to go to work anytime I get enthused about using it for coyotes or doing some varmint shooting!
Regards, Guy

Wyoming 2014
Wyoming was good to me again. Tagged a good mule deer buck and a decent pronghorn. Both with the .25-06 Rem 700 and 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k129/GuyMiner/hunting%20photos/IMG_8595_zps2322bdfc.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k129/GuyMiner/hunting%20photos/...

Re: 2013 father-son bear hunt
Thanks guys. We were only a few miles from the Canadian border on our hunt. It's not all that unusual for grizzlies to be sighted that far north in Washington. When I was looking through the scope, just as he shot, the sun was highlighting the bear, and he had big shoulders and what appeared to be a...

Re: 257 Weatherby for mule deer, 100 or 120 gr?
I've had excellent results on mule deer with the 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip at 3120 fps mv from my .25-06 rifle. Accurate and very deadly. Also penetrates much better than many might anticipate - as in completely through the buck and instant drops. We've got a .257 Weatherby here at the house too, ...

Re: Some pics of game and ferals from Australia
Always interesting seeing photos and reading posts about hunting from around the world. Don't know that I'll ever get to Australia - I waved when we went to and from the Persian Gulf while I was aboard ship... Close as I ever came to being in Australia! Keep posting the photos and telling the hunt s...

Re: Thoughts on spotting scope tripods
If you haven't already got the spotting scope stand, Al Ewing over in Spokane makes some high quality spotting scope stands. He builds a larger one for NRA Highpower competitors, and a smaller lighter one for military & police snipers which turns out to be ideal for hunters... I've been using it...

2013 father-son bear hunt
My son and I headed up into the hills for a few days of spot & stalk bear hunting here in Washington. No dogs or baiting allowed. We did employ the services of a great young guide, the same fellow who helped us get a pair of good bears a few years ago in 2010. The guy knows his bears, and this p...

Re: Kimber 1911 sights front and rear ??
Very happy with my good old Kimber, purchased brand new 15 years ago when Kimber 1911's were brand spanking new on the market. It's had a round or two through it now, and yeah, I carry it every day and shoot it almost every week. Not sure how many rounds are through it now. 50,000, 60,000 ? More? Du...

Prairie Dogs
After taking a mule deer, a pronghorn and a coyote with my .25-06, I put the "big" rifle away, and grabbed the .204 Ruger/CZ and headed for a prairie dog town. Windy and cold. Shot a few and enjoyed. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k129/GuyMiner/hunting%20photos/IMG_6937.jpg Used the 35 ...

Re: 2012 "Meat Bull"
Congratulations! I'm just a little envious - drawing a bull moose tag here in Washington State is a "once in a lifetime" event - and often takes 10 - 20 years, or more, to draw... I'll be astounded if I ever draw a moose tag!
Congrats. You did good.
