Re: lets talk powder.....

Just think if the criminals started putting red tips on real guns. That might turn the proverbial tables making you think they're harmless.

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

I have already developed a new target for this year. Not going to post it till necessary. You know how devious I can be. I AM determined to make this an online type contest though. Just too much trouble for the meager participation number of the past. Separate Factory and Custom classes wo...

Re: lets talk powder.....

My PCP air rifle looks better every day. Watch out! Those are just as vulnerable to the lefties as any other thing they won't tolerate. It just makes sense to save every firearm you own versus selling them. That way you have something you can pass down to your children. Even my daughters have been ...

Re: How do the best shooters in the world resize their brass?

The first one interviewed was Speedy. He's in several other videos from Erik Cortina. Also notice that Speedy said that "we" are the ones that invented the S Die. Meaning the bench rest shooters. When Speedy speaks, you should really listen. He casually imparts wisdom like it's nothing. He...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

I like the idea of at least two classes of rifles in this shoot-off, although it does complicate things somewhat. One a bone stock (or at least as close to bone stock as the rifle existed when it first came from the factory) and a second class of either modified or full-custom. Perhaps just two... ...

Re: How do the best shooters in the world resize their brass?

I have been using this method for case prep since I ran across it years ago. This is my Bible when it comes to case prep, especially for my bench rest 204R. Not so much for my Remington XR 100. I specifically remember Silverfox scolding me for posting this method. That's alright I'm a natural born t...

Here are the 2022 Five Shot Extravaganza, Ghost Bulls Eye results by group size. These were the only targets returned, btw. Bill K - 0.496 blue51 - 0.661 Irishgun - 0.916 Tom Kat - 1.828 This was the target's ghost bullseye: Ghost bulls eye.jpg I did blur the eyes to some degree. I thought it would ...

Re: lets talk powder.....

I've used Vithavuori N-130 and N-133. Started using it because of rave reviews over on 6mmbr.com. I forgot to take into account that they were shooting 6mm BR or PPC. My rifle was 204R. Got much better results with Benchmark or Reloader 10X.

Re: The plunk test

It's funny that you say you'll never own another Remington. The Remington 700 action is one of the most reliable actions I have ever known. I still have several. Of course they are at least 20 years old. Remington actions were used by the military extensively years ago. The good ole farm boys from t...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

Sorry I expressed my thoughts on your plan for a competition. Have what you and all the forum members agree on. I'm out of it. I sorry you feel that way. Please, reconsider. You had a valid point. The groups will be the tale of the tape. I'm sure we will all walk away with valuable experiences.

Re: The plunk test

Ya' know TK you sound a lot like me. The Marines spoiled me. I had the best of what Uncle Sam had to offer. I learned all about rifles and pistols while under the guidance of many top notch Subject Matter Experts. So when I buy a gun, especially pistols that I might depend on. I do the ultimate test...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

Okay, where's Varmint Shooter? I have thought it over and decided that, to make it fair, I'll shoot this old Remington XR 100. Box stock with a Leupold VX III 3.5-10 x 50mm scope. I may add a Harris bipod and use a rear bag. The thumb hole, rounded forearm stock on this thing doesn't lend itself to ...

Re: Small Caliber Posted Results Shoot 2024

I disagree with your plan entirely. your just allowing anyone with a custom rifle to, regardless of caliber, to enter. You, yourself, are planning on using a custom built rifle even if it is a 204R. Go back to your first competition, one official 5 shot target, standard 204R, one official scorer, h...
